Was that the same Topaz that he and the others were trapped in? It was hard to tell. He’d gotten separated from Lars and the other Off Colors in the endless tunnels of the Kindergarten, and it was hard to tell what was what anymore.

If this was her, maybe he’d found an ally. If not, an enemy. Still, she was the only gem he’d seen in ages. Maybe he could trick her into helping him find a way out. No Gem can resist a Steven-Smile.

“Hey... T-Topaz... How are you today.” He called, peaking out from behind a rock.

Steven was gripped tightly, an arm around his body. Before he knew it, he saw the other Topaz walk towards him to which they fused and he was caught like a fly in a spiderweb. “T-Topaz...you don't have to do this! You can come back to Earth with me and Lars, you can be free to be yourself!” He spoke in a loud whisper, looking to meet her eyes. They were in home world now, but maybe there was a chance that she could activate another escape pod while Aquamarine was distracted with her newfound duties on the planet.

It was silly, but honestly? She was so happy to work along the two Topazes! It was a nice change to be around someone of her same dimensions. Although she could use some communication too.

Steven’s return after an impromptu escapade to Homeworld brought with it fascinating stories of the Gems the hybrid had met along the way. Naturally, the mention of fusions had especially captured Garnet’s interest. 

To think there were other Gems out there bonded in the same way that Ruby and Sapphire were... Honestly, it was thrilling. She was keeping her excitement hidden just beneath the surface as it was.

   “Oh no, a most distressing vision! That I’m...about to be found!!!” Of course, it was definitely far too late for that bit. And this is why Paddy wasn’t supposed to leave the safety of the safe haven alone; things like this tended to happen.    Worst yet, there’d be no backups this time.

   Despite that, she still looked up to the Topaz fusion, not making much of an attempt to really run for it. To be fair, though... Sapphires did have a thing for fate and all that came with it. That too, was ingrained in her.

                “How dare you show your face around here again after taking Steven!” Lapis yelled at the fusion of Topaz. Another minion of the Diamonds’, showing up at her home. What more could they possibly want?!

The halls in the wing were long, and winding. A personal map brought up on a temporary screen, Jasper traced her eyes through the various halls and set ups along the new station, resting just outside of Homeworld’s orbit. Several numbers of cuts and facets appeared on her screen, though without exact identification, it was a gamble for every face that came around the corner. With so many working on the new system, she had expected map identification to have simplified itself days ago. Focused on her self-prescribed path to the memory core of the ship, Jasper hardly paid attention to the number dotting around the corner in front of her, and she ended up bodily colliding with what seemed to be a brick wall, and the moment her eyes rested on the color of the other gem, the awkward fumble was turned into an abrupt bear hug, accompanied by heaving the other gem off the ground, just for appropriate measure in asserting herself.
