CELLULOID HISTORY:
TWIN TRIBES
“SHADOWS”
MANIC DEPRESSION / DEAD WAX
TWIN TRIBES have returned with the video treatment for their debut single “SHADOWS” off of their fantastic debut LP of the same name. The Brownsville, Texan based duo of Luis Navarro (Vox/Guitar/Synth) & Joel Niño Jr. (Bass/Synth) offer a modern spin on classic post-punkisms by wrapping dark melodic songs around bright synthesizers and lyrics drumming up images of the occultish un-dead. The fitting bit of celluloid, courtesy of director @whoisjohngiorgio captures the essence of the tight 3 minute rush of saccharine synths, crisp production, and vocal despair, while delving into the dark arts of the occult. The Take On Me-esque opening beat gives way to melodic bass leads and six-string shimmer before coming all together as the foundation for Navarro’s emotional sigh. The duo take their cues from another era, yet mold their visions with a contemporary touch that eschews any attempt at being mere 80′s copyists...

Haunting darkwave tapestry weaving romance through shadows, where synthesized melancholy embraces fleeting intimacy, and love blooms as "a rose in a cauldron of thorns" amid gothic reverie.
