The Argyle government impounds thousands of ships every year. If they aren't claimed or paid for, they're usually sent straight to Twire IV, where they are meticulously scrapped for parts and dissected. The breaking yards on Twire IV fuel the building lots on Twire VI with a steady flow of recycled parts. The majority of the prisoners on this moon are androids, who are much more precise and less prone to error. Many concerns have been raised by conscious rights groups about targeting android civilians specifically to use them for free labor in the shipbuilding sector. A plot uncovered in 1983 reveled several Argyle judges were taking bribes to impose harsher sentences on their android defendants to keep them in shipyards for longer. The Twire Prison Bureau has sworn to investigate android cases with special care, but many are not convinced. Prominent synthetic rights activist Clorib Duke has condemned the TPB for contributing to the disproportionately high arrest rates of androids in Argyle and across the bay.
