Perception is the twisted key

It's proven to be

The death of me.

Yet it's all I've ever had:

Should I be sad?

Is my eyesight bad?

I've seen what I have always known,

Never bothered, as I've grown,

To question what I do not own.

If I had another life,

Or would it be my invisible knife?
