Knit Night: Meeting Heidi from Thriving Hive Studio
Knit Night at the Twisted Ewe has become the highlight of my week. And the extra late night tonight coincided with the last day of the Thriving Hive trunk show. I got to meet Heidi, and she gave me a recommendation for a book that I don’t want to forget.
You Can Knit That by Amy Herzog doesn’t just dump you in the middle of a sweater or cardigan pattern. It takes you through various different kinds of sweater construction, which I can really appreciate. I’m going to add that to my list of books to get. Or I should say, my list of books to see if it’s available in the library, and buy secondhand if it’s not ;)
I also made the unfortunate(?) discovery that the pattern I chose to teach myself how to do yarn overs has come near to completion... and the thing I was doing was a yarn wrap, not a yarn over. There is nary a yarn over in my piece of knitting. Not a one.
Oh well. It’s so close to being done, and I’m so eager to finally wear it, I’m not starting over. But I should maybe not post pictures to Ravelry so I don’t confuse someone who knows what they’re doing and wonders why mine looks different.
