Twitter Assignment
I chose my quote from Emma because it truly shows the signs of the relationship between Mr. Knightley and Emma. They are both sassy towards each other in a playful manner. Mr. Knightley is the only person who challenges Emma and matches her sassiness. Trying to translate Jane Austen to less than 140 characters on Twitter was definitely a challenge because I had to rearrange and strategize what to do. There’s so much content in that paragraph that I had to choose my favorite part which was Mr. Knightley’s sassy reply to Emma’s “matchmaking skills.”
I learned about others tweets that they had an easier time translating Jane Austen, while I struggled greatly because rewording has never been my strong suit. I really enjoyed everybody’s tweets because some people wrote really funny rewrites of Austen.
