BTS missing from social media?

BTS has never been this silent on social media before (especially Twitter, since that’s where the boys themselves are mostly active). Even when they went on holiday in 2019 they posted more than now. I feel like it even started before corona put everything on hold (even in January and February). I wonder what is going on. It’s very important to keep updating your fans and followers if you are an artist in our time. And especially in the k-pop industry. I’m kinda worried.... about their branding/marketing value, and losing followers. We are even worried about keeping them on social top 50, because they don’t post anything... and the other part is, are they on their way away from us? Why don’t they want to update and say hi to ARMY anymore? I’m not saying they don’t care about us - I know the boys 100%! We all do! But for more casual fans, this might be the signal they are sending.

If you are curious about numbers, take a look here. Their use of Twitter has been steady the last years. They did tweet lots more in 2013-2016 (150-200 each month being average). But 2017-2019 has been steady. About 80 tweets each month. Though the end of 2019 they posted about 50 tweets each month. Now, this year, it has been about 30 tweets each month. June only 21 tweets.

I don’t know the Weverse numbers for 2020, but I’m 100% sure it’s much less than 2019!

Please don’t take this the wrong way!! I’m not angry or criticizing anyone. The boys can do whatever they want - and they should! And in fact, I think it’s only healthy and good for them to stay away from social media!! (though of course I miss them a hell lot!!!). But from a branding perspective I can’t help but wonder why Big Hit isn’t pushing them. And I can’t help but think about what this might mean.

Lots of Twitter activity this morning. More so than usual. Cait sharing excellent bts pics with us. Then suddenly Sam pops up and likes and retweets her posts. Wait, it’s just after 2am in Hawaii...insomnia? Or...

Then Cait posts again! Within two minutes of Sam (8:14pm EST).

Hmm. Haven’t seen this pattern for sometime. Thinks *well, if Sam is where I think he is then he will have to tweet some more. Show me you aren’t up for a bathroom break!* THEN:

Wow Sam. 3:30am Hawaii or 2:30pm Scotland. I mean I know we don’t have 100% confirmation on whereabouts but...I feel like two someone’s are celebrating someone’s return home with several BTS goodies.
