TOCDFW you have to leave even extra early as it now takes over double the time to get home as you now have to tap every post on your right 9 times, rather than it used to be certain ones and 3 times.

tocdfw every time you accidentally touch something you have to touch it two more times because you need to cut the "line" between your hand and the object
tocdfw you still think about a bad dream you had once like two years ago like all the time and you're still disgusted by it and afraid it means you want to do what you did in it even tho it's gross and scary and very much Not You
.
Tocdfw you have your diagnose with two doctors, so of course both of them in the same room can't make a mistake! Yet your OCD still say you are "faking it" if you try not to make a ritual or just let go one of yours intrusive thought.
Tocdfw you're getting ready to leave the house and it takes you 2 hours just to get up and shower, and you're so exhausted afterwards that instead of going out you go back to bed
TOCDFW you can't even type without deleting something and starting over because the English language has a two negatives equals a positive rule and typing it twice will negate the previous typing and therefore you won't become like you're bigoted family
To toughgirlfastlane who was asking about not getting taken seriously by doctors/MH professionals: yes, I've found this too. I've had severe ocd for years and had a lot of trouble accessing the right help/any help bc of dismissive ppl. 2 things that helped: finally finding a good primary care doctor who could advocate for me; getting referred to ppl that actually specialise in ocd; and writing a detailed history of my probs to give to drs. Hope this helps x
for @toughgirlfastlane
ive been thru 4 x psychologists in 2 years and not one of them have acknowledged that the OCD tendencies are my most stressful issue, that I had OCD long before my current situation (my mother's health is my trigger, she has metastatic BC and Im not dealing very well). i have been told my tendencies are "self soothing" behaviours and she even went on to say that she too, 'sometimes checks locks twice or so' -- offered me valium after 35min. anyone else had probs w/ ppl not taking u srsly?
my advice is to just keep trying until you find a therapist who’s a good fit. that might seem like a non-answer, but there’s not much else to be done. i’m sorry you’ve had such bad experiences with therapists, just know they’re not all like that!
