Discworld Project - 2
The Light Fantastic
This novel is the true start of Discworld in my humble opinion (that is to say, the opinion of someone with all the social grace of a duckweed). It's just a straight up better book than Colour of Magic, and is unfortunately lumped into it when people are talking about where to start Discworld.
The Light Fantastic is hilarious, jokes right out the gate giving me giggles and not stopping throughout. But more than its humor, the actual focus of our Protagonists Rincewind and Twoflower is engaging from start to finish. Rather than the stagnation they were forced to experience for the duration of Colour of Magic, our 'heroes' grow and change throughout this novel.
Rincewind grows to actually care about Twoflower, Twoflower grows a better sense about the world, and Cohen the Barbarian gets teeth! While not his best showing (that is, of course, in Last Hero) our introduction to the greatest hero on the disc is as hilarious and wonderful as you'd expect to be.
A gripping plot line, a great villain befitting as a counter to the everything that is Discworld, an amazing climax, and many laughs along the way. This revisit was as surprising as it was delightful, and this is one of the best Rincewind novels.
I can't believe I have to give this book an A.

The second illustration in my discworld reread project! And hey, if you like my art and you like fantasy, why don't you check out My Webcomic on Newgrounds? or Here on Tumblr if you prefer
I have caught the Rinceflower brainrot. I’ve been listening to Moving by The Happy Fits for four hours on repeat at work and imagining an animatic I want to make with them.
All these awesome fan art related to the new episodes all over the place, and here I am drawing Lars as Rincewind, Steven as TwoFlower, and Lion as the Luggage from Terry Pratchett's Discworld's series. smh
I really liked these two from the commission prices listing so I wanted to post them on there own Whatever you do, don’t touch Moo’s fairies — Please reblog, do not repost Source:aeraya
Here’s a more fleshed out version of my new dog boi Two Flower~ He’s a good doggo, well when he’s not arguing with himself — Please reblog, do not repost
Ennio and Two Flower go way back, though I wouldn’t really go as far as to ever call them friends More like passive aggressive rivals that always try to one up each other — Please reblog, do not repost
My sister is reading me The Color of Magic. It’s really weird and I like it.
