“I’ve found the perfect competitors for our game!”
A group of pokemon appear in a flash. The terrain around them is barren, dusty ground and rocks shifting beneath their feet and nothing but a starry sky above. Immediate chatter and exclamations break out among them.
“What the fuck?”
“Wait, this isn’t -“
“Teleportation…?”
“Who are all of you? Huh? I don’t think I’ve met any of you before? Did I?”
“Woah, calm down everyone! Nothing’s wrong! You’re just all here to compete in a game! I picked you all out of your universes as our darling contestants!”
What were yall doing before yall were brought here?
“Oh me? I was just writing a bit! Sitting in my desk, pencil in hand! My pencil didn’t seem to come with, though? So sad, I’d love to take some notes. Though I guess none of you guys have any paper anyway, huh… So sad…” Cammy continually chatters away.
“We were just in our Pokeball,” Mentos say.
“Mi lape!” Mewi mews.
“I was taking a nap,” Two grumbles.
“I was resting as well,” Mercy says.
“I was wandering the woods…” Styx says.
“Oh, well, I was traveling through an Ultra Wormhole. This wasn’t where I was going though…” Aubade sighs.
“I was going out to gather food!” Ruse says.
“None of your Combeeswax,” Meteor frowns.
“…” Yu and Biscuit both do not respond. Yu’s expression remains ever blank, while Biscuit looks to the side, rubbing her arm.
How would the contestants (and Host) be summoned in Pokopia?
Biscuit says, “Well, me and Tea used to sleep with our adventure stuff right next to bed! So maybe that, lolz? Now that I think about it though, it’d probs be nice to have an actual bed again...”
[It appears Biscuit’s preferred habitat would include a straw bed, map and compass, and adventure kit. She would also enjoy the Modern Living habitat.]
Cammy says, “Oh! Well I would love a place where I can write and write lots! Ooh and stuff to read! Also need some light though! You need light to read and write, don’tcha? Maybe a computer instead of paper? I like to type too… But nothing’s quite like taking pen to paper! I can’t decide!”
[It appears that Cammy’s preferred habitat would include a magazine stand, an industrial desk, a lit desk lamp, a foldable chair, and a notepad. They would also enjoy the Work Space habitat.]
(REST UNDER CUT CAUSE LONG)
Two says, “I’d prefer somewhere dark and secluded, perhaps a cave. I also do still have an affinity for science as well, despite it all…”
[It appears that Two’s preferred habitat would include a waterfall, at least 2 water tiles, and 4 stepping stones in the dark. He would also enjoy the Experiment Space habitat.]
Mercy says, “Back on my planet, mortals used to set up large offerings and displays to show their fealty to me. While impressive, I truthfully would prefer a simpler home. There’s a rare type of pink grass that grows at high altitudes, and I’ve always loved laying in it.”
[It appears that Mercy’s preferred habitat would include a pedestal, meteorite, two lit fire pits, and a plate with food. They would also enjoy the High Altitude Pink Grass habitat.]
Meteor says, “Something comfortable and fancy for sure. Ooh, maybe some colorful lights to liven up the place. The flashier the better.” Meteor says.
[It appears Meteor’s preferred habitat would include a luxury couch, two tables of any type, and two lit meteor lamps. He would also enjoy the Gamer’s Paradise habitat.]
Mewi mews, “Mi wile e len lape e ijo musi mute. Mi wile e ijo musi suli kin!”
[It appears that Mewi’s preferred habitat would include a simple cushion and three toys of any type. They would also enjoy the Playland habitat.]
Yu glances at their paws for a moment, before gazing at the nearby tall grass. “…”
[It appears that Yu’s preferred habitat would include a simple stool, a canvas, and an Eevee doll. It would also enjoy the Tall Grass habitat.]
Ruse barks, “I’m not really picky! Just grass, a nest, some shade, and maybe a toy would do me just fine.”
[It appears that Ruse’s preferred habitat would include four red tall grass, a straw bed, and a toy of any type. They would also enjoy the Pointed Tree-Shaded Rocky Tall Grass habitat.]
Whisper says, “I’ve gotten quite used to my trainer’s abode. A soft bed and a place to cook would be nice. I’ve also grown quite used to camping with them.”
[It appears that Whisper’s preferred habitat would include any bed, a lit campfire, pot, and two partitions. He would also enjoy the Campsite habitat.]
Mentos say, “We’d like somewhere with a lot of flowers! Baby Mentos loves to pick them. We also love picnics, our trainer did those all the time!”
[It appears that Mentos’ preferred habitat would include a garden ornament, four wildflowers, and four tall grass. They would also enjoy the Picnic Set habitat.]
Aubade says, “I travel a lot and it usually hard to find somewhere comfortable… Um… Well, I don’t visit it often but maybe something like my room at the base? I just need somewhere to rest, train, and patch myself up. Oh, I also like to read.”
[It appears that Aubade’s preferred habitat would include a plain bed, a punching bag, a table, and a first aid kit. She would also enjoy the Mini Library habitat.]
Styx says, “Um… I enjoy the woods. They’re familiar. I’d like somewhere where the dead can rest, with a soft and peaceful glow.”
[It appears that Styx’s preferred habitat would include a pointed tree, a garden bench, a gravestone, and an eerie candle. They would also enjoy the Creepy Grave Offering.]
Host says, “I love watching stuff, especially the stars! Maybe a nice telescope and a comfy place to sit while I use it. I also think those Pokeball contraptions humans make are neat! Such a simple but striking design!”
[It appears that Host’s preferred habitat would include a telescope, and chair of any type. They would also enjoy the Nothin’ but Poké Balls habitat.]
Mercy clears her throat, causing the rest of the pokemon to stop and look at her.
“I understand we are all confused right now, but due to that I believe it is best for us all to work together for now. From what I’ve gathered, we are all here with no prior knowledge of Host or their game? Am I correct?”
“Yuppity yuppers! I know I haven’t at least! And I’ve been listening and haven’t heard anyone say otherwise! So from what I know, 100%, none of know anything else! Unless they’re like a spy or really good at hiding things or - “
“Thank you for the enthusiasm… Cammy, was it?” Mercy raises a claw up to prevent Cammy from another lengthy confirmation. “Anyway, I have noticed I am currently unable to teleport or create any sort of portals. I am also unable to contact any of the members of my Universe. I assume this is also true for all of you?” She glances particularly at Two and Aubade.
“I assure you, if I was capable of teleportation I would not be here. I have no real interest in participating in this ‘game’.”
“I, uh, haven’t been able to contact the Foundation so… yeah… But my reception kinda varies anyway…”
“If that’s the case, then I think we must accept that we are stuck here for the foreseeable future. Even if we are technically ‘competing’ amongst ourselves, I think we should all work to live together. First, we should make a base camp by splitting up and -“
“And why the fuck should we be listening to you? I don’t know who died and made you leader! And I certainly don’t remember voting either! I guess your Universe has never heard of democracy, huh?”
“I simply assumed one of us should take charge. I figured I may as well, but if there are any objections, I would gladly stand down. Are there any?”
[This is Part 1 - Part 2 will be posted and linked soon!]
“Hmm… I admittedly have my own misgivings, I suppose appointing a leader would be beneficial to keep us all in line. As for Mercy herself, I do find her willingness to step up admirable. So she’s fine by me.” Whisper says.
“We think Mercy seems kind. She’s far more elegant than our Koraidon friend, Buddy, too. She will probably be a good leader.” Mentos say.
(Rest under cut)
“Ummm… I don’t think I have any objections? Mercy seems fine to me. Legendaries are supposed to keep things in order, so honestly I’m kinda glad she’s here.” Aubade rubs one her front legs with her other.
“I think Mercy is fine… She has a nice aura…” Styx says.
“Well, you already know my opinion. Frankly speaking, I’m sure I’d be a far better leader.” Meteor says.
“mi pilin e ni: jan Mercy li jan lawa pona!” Mewi meows.
“I think it’s good Mercy took charge. I’d much rather have her than someone else, at least,” Biscuit makes a pointed look at Meteor.
“Mercy’s a Legendary! She must know what she’s doing. I know Rayquaza usually have to deal with Groudon and Kyogre, so I think she can probably handle us! I’d think so anyway. Actually I dunno, aren’t Mewtwo stronger than those two…? Hmmm. Point still stands! If we’re voting, I’m team Mercy!” Cammy chatters.
“…” Yu gives no response.
“Rayquaza’s really big and she seems pretty old. She’s also a legendary! So, it’s only right to respect her! Of course she should be the temporary pack leader.” Ruse barks.
“I frankly do not care either way.” Two says.
“Well, I obviously vote for myself as well. Which means 8 voted for me, 1 vote for Meteor, and 3 undetermined or unknown votes. Apologies Meteor, but it seems you are outvoted.”
“Ugh, fine, whatever you say.” Meteor grumbles for a bit, before freezing. They look up at Mercy with a sudden smile. “Actually, wait… Our wonderful leader, may I make a suggestion…?”
