It’s June so of course “Happy Pride” month! This is my faux-neon/rough-trade take on the typical overly-perfect pride material out there. It was inspired by an old Stonewall neon sign #stonewall50 There is indeed a lot to celebrate, but there is also a lot that’s gone “not so well,” there’s a lot of struggle still happening for so many. And I worry that most Pride things really gloss over that, doing dishonor to so many who came before us. So I wanted that to be present in this work too. I want to always be prideful but that’s a genuine struggle for me, but I’m getting better at it.... . Annnnd it’s Sunday!
