⭐️1797 "Cartwheel" Twopence ⭐️ Like its little sister, the "cartwheel" penny (which I also have), this coin was only minted in 1797*, and it was literally worth its weight in copper -- the twopence weighs a hefty 2oz. while the penny is exactly half that. This made counterfeiting EXTREMELY difficult because who's going to have two whole ounces of copper just lying around?! And for just TWO pennies' worth??? (I should mention that up to this point, pennies in Britain were actually made of SILVER, not copper, and they were really only used as Maundy money anyway.) *Actually, they both continued to be minted for a few years after that, but each one was marked with the year 1797.
