Your First Fight with Steve: Imagine for Anonymous
You laugh, deeply invested in the story that Soda was telling. You didn’t notice the stony-faced Steve, even though you were sitting on his lap. Finally, Steve all but pushes you onto the couch next to him and gets up, storming out of the house. Soda looks at you, perplexed.
“What’s up with him?” he asks, and you shrug, your eyebrows knitted together.
“I’ll go see.” You say, and walk out of the house. Steve is sitting on the steps, and doesn’t turn as the Curtis’ door slams behind you.
“You alright, babe?” You ask, and he stands up, spinning around.
“No, I ain’t.” He snaps and you step back. You had only ever seen Steve angry a handful of times – and never at you.
“What’s wrong?” You ask, reaching out to touch his arm, but he jerks back.
“What’s wrong?” He repeats. “What’s wrong is that you keep makin’ googly eyes at Soda. If you love him so much then why the hell are you even botherin’ with me!” He snaps, and your eyes widen.
“Steve Randle, you listen to me.” You say sternly. “You know that I love you and not Sodapop. You know that and even if you pretend otherwise it’s just you being immature.” You say, and he glares at you.
“Are you gonna do to me what Sandy did to Soda?” he says, his eyes narrowed. Your eyes do the opposite, widening.
“Is that what this is about?” You spit, shocked that he would even consider that of you – he had told you what happened, and you would never do anything like that to Steve. Never. You step forward. You were mad, but at the fact that he didn’t realize how much you loved him. His cheeks are flushed as you press your forehead to his. “You listen, and you listen good. Steve, I love you. And unless you don’t love me, then I ain’t leavin’. Alright?” You say. He doesn’t reply, his eyes glued to the ground. He finally looks up and nods.
“I’m sorry,” He says slowly. You two had never fought before this. “I love you.” He says slowly, and you nod.
“I know.”
