Look at how much space she has now! Its two giant fields, connected by a small bridge that she has access to. So much nice grass available, hopefully ill get more weight on her here and she can get some muscle running around with the frisky young horse, since her old pasturemates werent the playing type.
Pasture bridge on a normal day vs bridge a few days ago. I'm lucky I got there when I did, by the time i was done with Mary it was starting to lap over.
I was definitely skeptical about grass lasting here, but holy shit, its like still neon green in freezing cold November.
Big lady and I went on a little easy trail ride today in the side pasture. I haven't really done much in this pasture because the horses a little more active, but it's a really pretty woodsy area, so I think it will be joining the rotation more often. There's a little creek you can cross, as well as plenty of flat parts if you wanna increase speed. We kept it short as there was only a small break in the rain, but a good transition back into work post surgery for her.
A series in which Mary follows me out to back field where i was picking flowers and then peaced the fuck out there to go back to her friends when she realized my bucket only had flowers, no food. Featuring the wild turkeys that also apparently live in the pasture, as i see them almost every morning now.
An absolutely beautiful morning on the farm
The squad has changed up a little bit lately, Mary has been hanging out with Andy the other thoroughbred much more often, and poor Leo has become a bit of an afterthought.
