When I was a little kid, the woods were my safe place. They were endless and inviting, and I never felt alone and abandoned when I was out there. Like the woods were alive and there with me - and technically, they were!
I specifically remember a pond somewhere off behind my house. It's all fuzzy now of course, but I know it existed. I know I felt safe there, tucked away in the trees watching the bugs and frogs at the pond.
Lots of adventures were had with imaginary friends out there. It felt easy go make up friends and play with them. The woods traveled the barriers of normal life.
Lots of stuff happened. Lots of stuff I would rather forget - what I remember of it at least. But the woods were my safe place through it all. There truly is something extraordinary out there - you just have to get outside and look!
Its the whole reason I made this blog. Somewhere along the way I lost it, I forgot the magic. But now more than ever, we all need a bit of the magic of the outdoors
