Thank ya so muchh!
【❝Heat Waves❞】
【Featuring: Jack Howl, Ruggie Bucchi, and Leona Kingscholar】
【Tags: gn reader, established relationship, fluff, some crack, Jack is going through it, Ruggie is chasing that bag, Leona is chilling fr, uhh yeah that’s literally it (I think), possibly ooc Jack (park how to right him tbh), possible typos/spelling errors, please let me know if I missed any tags】
【Word count: Jack (204) Ruggie (208) and Leona (246) Total (0.6k)】
【a/n: oooh I felt this one in my soul lol! I live in a very hot place (it’s basically summer year round her) so I know just how terrible the heat can be! I don’t have too much to say about this one, but I hope you enjoy anon! <33333】
‧₊˚ ┊ Jack may be built, but he's not built for handling the heat lol
‧₊˚ ┊ He's fully out of commission when it gets hotter than he's used to, like he's not moving a single inch until the temperature finally becomes reasonable enough for him to do so (honestly, real)
‧₊˚ ┊ I definitely see Jack blasting the air conditioning while simultaneously having, like three other fans on at the same time
‧₊˚ ┊ He's usually down to hold and cuddle you, but he needs a few feet of distance between you when it gets hot (he's sorry, it's not you, it's him lol)
‧₊˚ ┊ Jack may not be all over you like he usually is, but he shows his love for you by making sure you're cool and hydrated (remember to drink your water everyone)
‧₊˚ ┊ Finally, once the sun sets and is no longer scorching the earth, Jack dares to venture outside and away from the comfort of the air conditioning
‧₊˚ ┊ He'll invite you along to go to Sam's store for some snacks and drinks (nighttime snack runs go so hard)
‧₊˚ ┊ Thankfully, the temperature is low enough that Jack is able to cuddle you when you go to sleep that night (the air conditioning and faces are staying on tho lol)
‧₊˚ ┊ Growing up, Ruggie spent plenty of days fighting the dreadful summer heat, so this is nothing to him
‧₊˚ ┊ Now, in typical Ruggie fashion, he uses the heat as a money-making opportunity (the grind never stops lol)
‧₊˚ ┊ His money-making strategy is a simple one: selling bottles of water and electrolyte drinks at a marked-up price to the poor, unsuspecting students of Night Raven College
‧₊˚ ┊ Ruggie won't make you tag along, but if you do, then he'll make sure you have an umbrella to keep you out of any direct sunlight and a handheld fan to keep you cool (you're his there for moral support lol)
‧₊˚ ┊ At the end of the day, Ruggie will take the money he made and treat you as thanks for keeping him company despite the heat
‧₊˚ ┊ Once the sun has set, and it's not so hot outside, he'll invite you to sit with him and just chill (I definitely think him and grandma Bucchi used to do this all the time when he was younger — usually with a glass of sweet tea in hand)
‧₊˚ ┊ To Ruggie, there's no better day than one spent making money by your side (both you and money are some of his favorite things in this world aside from donuts lol)
‧₊˚ ┊ The lion does not concern himself with the heat (lies)
‧₊˚ ┊ Leona is used to putting up with the dreadful summer heat, but that's not gonna stop him from complaining about it lol
‧₊˚ ┊ The only good thing about this heat is getting to see Leona shirtless and sweaty with his hair pulled up (mmmmmh I can just imagine it now 🤤)
‧₊˚ ┊ While he's content to just lie in bed all day and just stick it out, but he's not gonna let you suffer along with him
‧₊˚ ┊ Don't worry too much, Leona will just sneak you off campus and drive you down to the beach so the two of you can just chill and enjoy the ocean breeze
‧₊˚ ┊ Leona isn't really gonna get in the water, so he'll just stay in the sand under the shade
‧₊˚ ┊ Of course, he'll grumble and complain if you ask him to help you out on sunscreen, but he still ends up doing it anyway (it's just an excuse for him to get his hands on you lol)
‧₊˚ ┊ After you've had your fun, Leona will take you to get ice cream on your way back to NRC (he doesn't let anyone eat in his car, so you'll both just sit on the hood or the trunk while chat while you enjoy your sweet treats)
‧₊˚ ┊ If you ask Leona if he had a good time, he'll deny it and say no even though you keenly remember the smile he wore that day (he's so babygirl)
you had asked trey to teach you how to bake some tarts since riddle had helped you study for a test and surprisingly you passed.
you wouldn’t have passed if it wasn’t for him so you wanted to give him a thank you gift in return.
“could you hand me that bag of flour please?” you pointed at the bag then grabbed it, handing it to trey.
"Thank you baby" trey smiled, completely unaware of what he just called you.
“alright you can pour the flour in while i grab the butter” he turned towards the fridge while you just stood there.
when he looked up to see you standing there not doing what he asked, he had a confused look on his face.
“something wrong? you okay?” he walks up to you going to check your forehead for your temperature and to get a good look at your face.
“since when did I become your baby?” trey furrow his eyebrows
what are you-
oh no.
trey lets out a nervous chuckle as he tries to hide himself from you.
did he really say that out loud?
you just looked so cute in an apron with that determine look on your face, ready to make the best tart you can as a thank you gift. and he gets to spend time with you while being this close-
“ha, did I say that?” he rubs the back of his neck while you nodded trying to hide your small smirk.
“this is embarrassing- I don’t know why I said that, I meant to say y/n really..”
trey tried to busy himself with continuing the recipe but you weren’t going to let up.
“really now? you sure?”
trey sighs, there’s no point in denying it now
“would it be weird if i said no?”
“so am I your baby now?”
he looks at you sheepishly, “only if you want to.”
you think for a moment, “how about you take me out then we’ll go from there baby~”
you poked his nose which left some flour on it as he chuckled.
“let’s finish these tarts then i’ll take you out and ask you to be mine properly.”
cater
" Come on baby one more?"
“cater we have a pic from every angle by now-“
you did look at him a bit confused by the pet name but you brushed it off since he usually calls you by pet names like sweetie, hon, etc. you figure that’s just how he addresses his friends.
“this will be the last one I swear!” the two of you close in once more to take more photos but if you look closely at cater- he’s absolutely dying inside.
‘oh my sevens I just called them baby.. WHY DID I DO THAT? they didn’t say anything, maybe this is okay?’
the words just came out so naturally when he’s with you, it’s hard for him not to call you by a term of endearment.
he always plays it off but truthfully he never addresses his friends like he does you, sure maybe a few times but playfully.
with you, sevens he really means it.
he’ll spend the rest of his days praising you, saying sweet words to you.
maybe he should try it again, see if you’ll say something?
“oh my sevens baby look how good this one is?” he said as he leaned even closer to you to show his phone.
“baby..?”
“yeah cutie?” he smirked. on the inside he’s sweating bullets.
“is there something you want to tell me cater?”
“that depends on how you’ll react..” he chuckled nervously.
you put his phone up and kissed his cheek as you clicked to take the picture.
“now do you have something to tell me?”
“i’m so posting that. #official #baby #bestcoupleever” he giggles while kissing all over your face.
ace
you finally decided to show up to one of ace’s basketball practices to see if he’s actually good.
ace is always bragging how great he is but from the looks of it...
he wont admit to it but he's trying to impress you, so he would point to you and say 'this is for you' before throwing the ball- only for it to not make it in. floyd would snicker and do the same thing only for him to make it in, teasing ace.
it didn't matter to you, they made you laugh and you would still cheer for him whether or not he scored.
ace decided to do it again one last time which made his teammates groan, knowing he was just going to miss again.
he shoots…
"Hell yeah! Did you see that baby?!” he made it in. he ran up to you to give you a high five but mid way he stops, realizing what he just said.
“baby?”
“I- uh- I mean not like that! like in a bro way- dude baby y’know.. I was excited! not like in the other way…”
ace was blushing so hard there was no way he could save himself and what made things worse is that his teammates heard the whole thing.
“yeah baby did you see that~” floyd wrapping his arm around ace, making kissy noises at you two while jamil snickers, “can’t believe that how you decided to confess… baby”
“it just came out! i didn’t mean it!”
they’re never going to let him live that down.
once the teasing calmed down and his teammates were distracted, ace attempted to play it cool
“I didn’t mean it like that obviously, yknow friends can call each other names..”
“so you call deuce baby too?” he cringed.
“…”
“yes..?”
you rolled your eyes and smirked
“and here I thought i was special.” ace straighten up as you stepped closer towards him.
“what- what do you mean-“
you kissed his cheek.
“I’ll see you later.. baby.”
“I can’t believe that worked.” jamil murmured as you walked away
“HELL YES!” he’s fist bumping the air.
Jack
“hold on baby..”
jack was so focused on you he didn’t even notice his slip up. he was busy fixing your posture, “you need to make sure you’re properly stretching or you’ll make things worse for you later.”
“uh huh…”
“whats wrong? getting cold feet already?”
you were spending the day with jack, deciding to go for a jog then maybe work out, he was helping you stretch before you guys got started but now you were focused on something else.
“no it’s just.. didn’t know you could be affectionate.”
“huh? what do you mean i’m just helping you out so you don’t hurt yourself.” jack has no idea what youre talking about
“yeah.. and I appreciate it baby.”
jacks ears twitch, “what are you talking about..” his tail swinging side to side as he tries to figure out what’s going on with you.
wait a minute..
“did I…?” oh my sevens he said that out loud.
“you sure did baby.” jacks face heated as his ears flattened, clearly embarrassed.
“it was an accident, i didn’t mean it..”
“what if I liked it?”
jack could be sent off flying from how fast his tail is wagging, he’s trying so hard to be calm “what?”
you simply kissed his cheek, “so are we going for a run or what?” you teased before running ahead.
jack is so whipped and confused. but he’s not letting you get out of his reach anymore.
silver
you bumped into silver at the library, you were gathering books you needed for class and a few of them were out of your reach.
silver being the gentleman he is, saw you struggling so decided to lend a hand.
“thank you silver, I appreciate the help.” you smiled as you took the book out of his hand.
“of course baby.”
…
wait what-
“oh.. I mean y/n.. I meant to say y/n…” silver took a second to register what he just said. he really did mean to say your name but he was fighting the urge to not fall asleep so within his daze he must of let the word slip out.
you blinked. “right.. I see how you would mix those up..”
silver looked down, embarrassed. “i’m sorry y/n I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable, i feel a bit drowsy and it just slipped out.”
“you didn’t make me uncomfortable silver.”
“no really I would never. i’m sorry I didn’t mean it, you’re a great friend I don’t want-“
“so you just see me as a friend?”
“…yes.” silver hesitated. he didn’t want to have this conversation right now.
he didn’t want to risk your relationship by confessing his feelings but maybe his slip up is leading an opportunity for him.
“oh I see.” you saddened a bit
silver looked around and took a breath. he thinks about his fathers words and decide to just go for it.
“I… I see you more than a friend y/n. I like you but I didn’t want to make you uncomfortable and ruin our friendship. that slip up was an accident but maybe it could mean something?”
you smiled brightly at him before holding onto his hand, “I like you too silver, I would love that baby~”
silver flushed as he left a small peck on your temple.
“perfect.”

Ace had been minding his own business, as he definitely, absolutely, one hundred percent always does. He definitely was not hiding anything suspicious in Deuce's bag to unpleasantly surprise him later. Ace would never do that.
And then the door to his dorm room slams open, and there you stand, panting and bent over like you'd just run a marathon. He snickers.
"Damn, you look like—"
"IMPREGNATE ME!"
Ace freezes and stares for maybe two seconds before busting into laughter. "Pfft— ahahaha! You're a riot! You can't actually mean—" And then he stops entirely. His eyes slowly start widening, and an expression of abject horror paints his features, along with a blush that makes his heart mark indistinguishable from the rest of his face. "You can't be serious. No way, Y/n, there's no— I mean, don't get me wrong, I don't mean— Well, I— You—"
He's floundering.
You throw him a lifeline between mirthful laughs. "No, Ace, I don't mean it. I'm fucking with you."
Stare.
"I hate you so much right now," Ace finally grumbles. "You're the worst."
"But you like it," you joke, lightly punching your boyfriend's arm. He scoffs.
"As if. Who'd like a jerk prankster like you?"
"Takes one to know one," you sing.
"You take that back!!"
𝐃𝐞𝐮𝐜𝐞 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐝𝐞
Deuce had only just started his warmup stretches. He has to be ready for his track training, after all! It's bright and squirrely early on a breezy Saturday morning, perfect for some sprint practice. No distractions this time, only—
"DEEUUUCEYYYYY~!!"
Never mind that, then.
Deuce perks up at the sound of your voice, but he's bowled over when you happily tackle him. He stares up at you, wide-eyed and a bit shaken. You, on the other hand, are all smiles as you pin him to the grass.
"Impregnate me."
Deuce blanks. The gears in his brain slowly turn, and he carefully mulls over those two words. Did you say what he thinks you just said? You couldn't have!
"H-huh?! Y-Y/n! I—" His face blooms with a glowing red, all the way to the tips of his ears and down his neck. "We can't! We're still so young, and— And—" He pauses as he takes a deep breath. "Well, Mom does want grandchildren…"
"Deuce!" You exclaim in uproarious laughter. "You're not actually considering this, are you?" You roll off of him and flip into the grass. As you gaze into the clear blue skies, you say, "I'm jus' kidding. But it's nice to know you'd at least think about it."
Deuce smiles a bit while covering his face with a hand. "Y-yeah. Sure… Don't scare me like that. I thought you were serious."
"I might be in the future."
"HUH?!"
𝐉𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐇𝐨𝐰𝐥
Jack rests on a bench, slowly sipping at a water bottle. He'd just gone on break after some serious training, and if his panting is anything to go by, this break is well-earned. His ear flicks when he detects someone flopping beside him.
His nose twitches; it's you.
His shoulders relax from their tensed state on pure instinct. But that doesn't last long at all.
"Hey, Jack?" His gold eyes flick to you. "Impregnate me."
If there were ever a time for a record scratch, it'd be now.
Jack falls into a stiff silence, ears and tail standing on end. He carefully turns your words over in his mind, wanting to ensure he heard you right. But those ears of his aren't just for show, and they definitely didn't lie to him. You did just ask him that. No, demand. There was no question in your tone.
He clears his throat. You deserve an answer, and it has to be thought through.
"I'm not against starting a family with you," he carefully starts, "but I think it's a little too early. We're still in school, and I haven't even taken you to meet my parents yet. I think maybe we should…take it a…bit…slower." Your gaze is burning holes into him.
And then— cackling.
"Oh, Jack, honey. Sweet pup. I'm just kidding!"
A beat.
Just when you start to think you might've offended him, Jack looks away, flustered, and grumbles, "You shouldn't joke about stuff like that… It's not— But in the future, if you… Never mind."
But you know what he means.
"Aww, you're adorable," you coo. "I'll keep that in mind~"
Another record scratch.
"Wait, what?"
But you're already skipping away, a pep in your springy step.
𝐄𝐩𝐞𝐥 𝐅𝐞𝐥𝐦𝐢𝐞𝐫
Epel just finished another one of Vil's lessons. Horrible, grueling, and filled with lots of makeup tutorials and impossible to walk in shoes. At this point, Epel knows Vil means well, but damn if it isn't unbearable at times. Rook's commentary didn't help, either.
Maybe now Epel can practice for Magishift or something. It's one of the only times he's allowed to play in the dirt. He taps his broom against the waxed flooring of the Pomefiore dorm in thought. Well, it's now or never. He can almost hear Vil lecturing him about indecisiveness.
"Epeeeelll! Epel!"
Your mad dash almost knocks him over, but you both manage to stop your manic tackle.
"Wass— Er, what is it?"
You grab his shoulders like you're about to impart multigenerational wisdom or give a foreboding warning. "Impregnate me."
He short circuits.
"Huh?! Y/n? What in th— Ya serious?! Ya crazier'n a bag'a cats if ya think that's a good idea right now. Yer a fine apple, don't get me wrong, but it's too early! Meemaw would kill me if Ah put put a bun in yer oven 'fore we graduated!"
You burst into uncontrollable laughter. You just can't help it! You cackle so hard it turns into less than flattering guffaws and snorts. But it's just like Epel to catch you off guard, isn't it?
Your laughter makes him realize just what happened. He frowns, almost offended, and he crosses his arms.
"That ain't funny," he huffs. "Foul."
"Love you, too," you snicker. "Oh, what would I do without you?"
He flicks the highest part of you he can reach. "Y'ain't catchin' me like that next time. Cross my apple-eatin' 'eart."
"We'll see about that, heh."
𝐒𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐤 𝐙𝐢𝐠𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐭
Sebek had been sent to train solo while Lilia gave personal tutoring to a very sleepy Silver. Sebek didn't mind, though — this is another chance to improve and surprise his master!
His stance is strong and his mind stronger. His focus remains sharp and unflappable. Nothing could possibly—
"Sebbyyyy! Sebek! Sebeeeek!"
He almost has a heart attack. You're not supposed to be here right now! Unless something happened? Then he should—
You don't slow down fast enough, having expected him to react more than he did, and slam into his side. He's much too solid for that, and you end up rubbing your dully aching head.
"Is something the matter?!" Sebek exclaims, turning to face you. He must remain calm!
You grab his arm and stare at him dead in the eyes.
"Impregnate me."
The response is instant.
"Y/N! THAT'S ENTIRELY INAPPROPRIATE! HOW COULD YOU ASK SUCH A THING OF ME WHEN YOU HAVEN'T MET MY FAMILY YET? WE HAVEN'T BEEN WED! WE'RE STILL ATTENDING COLLEGE! I— WE— LORD MALLEUS HASN'T GIVEN HIS BLESSING YET! WHAT YOU'RE SUGGESTING IS OUTRIGHT SCANDALOUS!!"
And yet his face is redder than cherry juice on a tomato. To save his soul, you pat his arm amidst joyful cackles.
"I'm kidding, Sebek, I'm kidding!"
He gasps. "This isn't a laughing matter! You had me worried for nothing! And to joke about such a thing?!"
"Aww, you were worried about me?" You coo.
"NO—"
He definitely was.
Epel is so fun to write for; I should do it more often, lmao.

LEONA KINGSCHOLAR
At first, Leona doesn’t even realize it’s a crush. He just notices that you’re different. You don’t bow to his sharp words or his status. You don’t flatter him or look at him like he’s someone unreachable — you simply talk to him. As if he’s a regular student. That alone makes you stand out in his world of forced respect and fake smiles.
He tries to brush it off, of course. “Tch, what a pain,” he mutters, head resting on his arm as he watches you talk to someone else. But his ears are tilted your way, catching your every word, even when he pretends he isn’t listening.
Leona is lazy, yes, but he’s perceptive. He notices the smallest details about you — your habits, the way you speak when you’re comfortable versus when you’re not, what kind of people irritate you. He never says a word about it, but his actions quietly adjust. If he knows a certain classmate annoys you, he’ll show up out of nowhere and sit beside you just to make them back off. If he sees you struggling with something, he’ll scoff, help you anyway, then say, “Don’t get used to it.”
He’s not strongly possessive, he’s more like a lion claiming his spot in the sun. He’ll casually stretch his arm behind your chair during lunch or tilt his leg so it brushes yours. Just enough for people to see that you’re near him. But if someone flirts with you, that’s when the lazy mask cracks. His tone turns cold, his gaze sharp. “You’re bold, talking to them like that right in front of me.”
He doesn’t go out of his way to impress you, he already knows he’s impressive. Instead, he watches you react to him. If you challenge him, his tail flicks in amusement. If you ignore him, he finds excuses to provoke you just to get a reaction. He’d rather have your irritation than your indifference.
Leona hates to admit it, but you calm him. When you sit nearby, he actually falls asleep faster. When you talk, the constant, bitter buzz in his head, about his brother, about status, about expectations, fades away. That’s the first sign that you’ve gotten under his skin.
Ruggie catches on early. He teases Leona relentlessly. “Y’know, boss, for someone who doesn’t care, you sure nap in their spot a lot.” Leona throws a pillow at him and grumbles, “Shut it, hyena.” But he doesn’t deny it.
He’ll never confess first. His pride won’t allow it. He waits, silently daring you to figure it out. When you catch him staring one day and ask “What?” he smirks and says, “Nothing. Just wondering how you managed to keep my attention this long.”
Despite the teasing, he’s careful with you. He never raises his voice around you, never truly insults you — his sharp tongue softens, even when his words sound rough. You might catch a quiet “You did good today” disguised under his usual lazy drawl.
If you ever look upset or tired, he won’t ask what’s wrong — instead, he’ll just sit beside you, toss his jacket over your shoulders, and mutter, “Don’t make that face. It’s pathetic.” But his tail wraps around your leg.
RUGGIE BUCCHI:
When Ruggie realizes he likes you, he’s not really surprised in exaggerated manner. One day he just notices that he’s paying more attention than usual—where you are, if you’ve eaten, whether you look tired. He tells himself it’s nothing new. He keeps an eye on everyone. That’s how you survive. Still, his focus keeps drifting back to you no matter what he’s doing.
He starts showing up around you a lot. But always with an excuse. He was already in the area. He had a job nearby. He needed something from this side of campus anyway. Somehow, those excuses line up perfectly with your schedule. He never points it out, and if you do, he laughs it off like you’re reading too much into it.
Helping you feels different to him, and that bothers him. Ruggie is used to weighing effort against reward, but when it comes to you, he doesn’t stop to calculate as much. He’ll grab things for you, fix small problems, or give advice without asking for payment first. Sometimes he only realizes later that he didn’t get anything out of it—and instead of being annoyed, he just shrugs and moves on.
Food is where the cracks really show. Ruggie guards his meals fiercely, but with you, he makes exceptions he pretends aren’t exceptions. He’ll push part of his food toward you and claim he’s not that hungry, or say he can always get more later. If you thank him too seriously, he gets flustered and tells you to stop making it weird.
He teases you a lot, but it’s lighter than how he messes with others. Less sharp, more softer. If you look uncomfortable, he backs off immediately, even if it means losing the joke. Seeing you laugh feels like a win in a way he doesn’t fully understand, so he keeps chasing it.
Ruggie doesn’t open up easily, but around you, things slowly slip out. Small stories about his grandma. Offhand comments about working too much. Things he usually keeps buried under jokes. The moment he realizes he’s said too much, he tries to play it off, but he doesn’t shut down completely. He lets you hear just a little more than anyone else.
If someone messes with you, Ruggie notices that immediately. But he doesn’t make a scene. He just steps in, redirects the situation, or handles it later where you won’t see. When you’re safe again, he acts like it was no big deal. But his mood stays sharp for a while after.
Leona catches on before Ruggie does. He doesn’t say anything—just gives him a look now and then. Ruggie ignores it. Pretends he doesn’t know what that look means. Still, he sticks a little closer to you after that, like it’s an instinct.
If you ever do something genuinely kind for him with no strings attached, it throws him off badly. He gets suspicious at first, asks what you want, and doesn’t quite believe you when you say “nothing.” But later, when he’s alone, he thinks about it longer than he means to. He remembers it.
JACK HOWL:
When Jack first realizes he likes you, he doesn’t quite accept it right away. He’s not used to relying on people, let alone wanting to be near someone just because they make his chest feel warm. He keeps telling himself it’s just admiration or respect. You’re hardworking, reliable, and kind, of course he’d think well of you. But when his ears start twitching every time he hears your voice, and his tail starts wagging before he can stop it, even he has to admit something’s up.
He doesn’t flirt or tease. That’s not Jack’s way at all. His crush on you shows through acts of attention — offering to carry your books, walking you to class “since we’re heading the same way,” or giving you a serious look and saying, “You skipped lunch. You need to take care of yourself.” Every small thing is his way of saying, I care about you, even if he can’t bring himself to say it out loud.
Jack also becomes noticeably more focused when you’re around — not that he’s trying to impress you, but rather that he doesn’t want to embarrass himself. He doubles down on training, stands taller, and pushes harder in Magical Shift practice. He claims it’s “for self-improvement,” but deep down he wants to be someone worthy of standing beside you.
Despite all of that, he’s awkward. If you catch him staring, he immediately looks away, ears twitching. If you thank him for helping, he mumbles something like, “Don’t mention it,” without meeting your eyes. He doesn’t want to owe you anything, yet he can’t help doing little things for you. It frustrates him, how easily you make him act against his usual logic.
When Leona or Ruggie start teasing him about it, he denies everything flat-out. “Don’t be ridiculous. I don’t get distracted that easily.” But Ruggie’s smirk shows how he’s not buying it, and Leona just yawns, saying, “You’re terrible at hiding things.” Jack tries to brush it off, but the next time he’s with you, his tail gives him away all over again.
He gets protective too, though he tries to disguise it as common sense. If someone speaks to you rudely, Jack steps in before you can even respond — standing tall with arms crossed, voice calm and firm as he speaks. “Watch how you talk to people.” He never raises his voice, but his presence alone makes most people back off. When you thank him later, he just shrugs, saying, “I just don’t like seeing people act unfair.”
Jack notices small things — the way your shoulders slump when you’re tired, the quiet sighs you let out when you’re stressed. He doesn’t always know what to say, but he’ll quietly hand you a bottle of water, or walk beside you without saying much, his calm presence doing the comforting for him.
When he’s alone, though, it’s a different story. He catches himself thinking about you during runs or remembering something you said days ago. It annoys him that he can’t get you out of his head. “Focus,” he mutters to himself, trying to shake it off. But every time he sees you again — smiling, laughing, just being you — he knows it’s pointless. He’s already fallen.
