honest to god though, i do feel like miku norteña is the only one in top 8 who will come out of the tourney with a net negative regardless of if she wins or loses.

everyone else has at least something going for them outside of the tourney— family, friends, careers. things that make sure they couldn't be clinging to the tourney like a lifeline.

even if miku wins, what does she even have? broken relationships that might not even recover? a tainted career? a very serious addiction that is being partially enabled by the tourney itself (which is a whole can of worms i've been thinking about)?

gaining whatever prize is awaiting her at the end of the road would just be a band-aid to a wound that's been bleeding for a long, long while.

Wait guys One Direction is actually 10 minutes from my house right now and I'm not super excited because they're here (maybe a little) but mostly because so many other people love them and I get the privilege of having them close for one night and they're frequenting the places I frequent so yay and I'm getting ready to go to be 2 minutes away from where they are so I can basically hear them play even though I won't be at the concert like shopping, seeing friends, and hearing One Direction live what else is there to life?
