honest to god though, i do feel like miku norteña is the only one in top 8 who will come out of the tourney with a net negative regardless of if she wins or loses.
everyone else has at least something going for them outside of the tourney— family, friends, careers. things that make sure they couldn't be clinging to the tourney like a lifeline.
even if miku wins, what does she even have? broken relationships that might not even recover? a tainted career? a very serious addiction that is being partially enabled by the tourney itself (which is a whole can of worms i've been thinking about)?
gaining whatever prize is awaiting her at the end of the road would just be a band-aid to a wound that's been bleeding for a long, long while.
