The beginning of the rest of my life

I'm starting this blog so that I can always remember what it was like in these early stages of adulthood/army life. I'm eighteen, I recently graduated high school and immediately joined the national guard. I didn't know what the national guard even was until I met someone in it and he seemed really happy about his choice. A week later I was taking the ASVAB and heading to MEPS, so clearly I don't think things through. I'm 58 inches, so getting in required me to get a waiver. I was really disappointed and gave up on my dream of a military career, but luckily I got a call a month later and here I am now, awaiting BCT in early March. I'm a 69X and could not be happier with my MOS, it totally suits me. I have a very active and healthy lifestyle, so army life is going to be perfect for me. I always strive to be the best at everything I do, so of course I'm gonna kick BCT's ass ;) hopefully, when I'm done with this blog, I will be successful and happy with my military career.
