The Music Euros (the real Eurovision) - Desperately Seeking Belgians!! #COYBIG
A week into the Euros and I'm a week into exploring some of the more arcane pockets of European music, everything from the classics (though sadly no Dutch representation this time so no inclusion of "Radar Love"), to the classical (from the Polish Chopin to the Austrian Mozart), and some obscure Slovakian jazz. Lovely to be able to include the Man Band, Stereophonics and The Manics for the first time courtesy of Welsh qualification, as well as the likes of Van the Man and exMagican (terrific to see both teams from Ireland qualifying for a major championship together!)
Of course match days involving Ireland mean special playlists of Irish v the opposition, so here you can see the playlist created for the boys in first game against the Swedes comprising mostly well known Irish and Swedish artists and tunes though some may not be familiar with the wonderful Josefin Öhrn + The Liberation (discovered via the wonderful Kelly Anne Byrne's evening TXFM show)
And right now I'm faced with a bit of a dilemma in that other than some old timers such as Jacques Brel and Plastic Bertrand the only Belgian band that I've paid much attention to is zEUS. So I’m desperately seeking a couple of decent Belgian artists to make up the #IRLvBEL playlist otherwise the Belgian representation on the playlist will be a bit light, and the whole thing will be unbalanced in favour of the Irish,,,,(hopefully that's how the match will turn out!!)
Merci beaucoup
