thinking abt warrior cats has me sort of, remembering? how formulaic and hollow the writing can be. i was reading through a warriors blog, and i came across a post about willowshine's death- which is totally reasonable to be upset about, but it made me consider how.. of course the erins would kill her off. they needed to bring mothwing back to riverclan, and mothwing is so stubborn that this is really the only option. and of course, tthere are other factors, like them needing someone to drag rootspring to hell and act like a good guy, but i think part of it definitely includes the erins not wanting to let cats have real human discussions about their problems. have a conversation please. any of you. a couple of bristleroot aus to come.
bristleroot is fine
i just finished darkness within, and genuinely, i did sort of like the origin. it might be because i knew they were going to end up together and was actively looking for hints, but i did find them, at first- i kind of like the interpretation of bris genuinely liking him and it just not really ever occurring to her and then suddenly he asks her and she's like "hey, wait, shit." (though i wish this was written from her perspective)
what i don't like is bris suddenly being written as almost a totally different character after this point. i never really expected, when reading tbc, that i'd get attached to any of the characters (except shadowsight ig) but i kinda did. tree is a good man, potentially one of my new favorites. i love when characters criticize clan life. that's why i like sol so much. i also liked bris, probably more than root, bc she had strong beliefs and was willing to act on them. now she's kinda just.. the love interest.
anyways. tbc thoughts. not bristleroot itself, but them toning down bris' personality for it, is killin my vibes. idk how valuable bristleroot thoughts are, if any of this is a revelation, who knows. still. what's the point of having a tumblr blog if not to just eject thoughts into the void?
@ the anon who requested ivypool a few days ago hello i see u & yes! i've been distracted lately but i will get to it soon i swear

(little update on the ashfur vs bramblestar au, bc i know y'all like it- i'm... working on the details. i may try writing it out, it may include stuff like holly having a power and ashfur being an arguably better person too but i'm not entirely sure yet. maybe i'll make a post on it, wanna avoid spoilers in case i do write it up)
still reading place of no stars and i... cannot stop laughing at the fact they genuinely wrote "such deadly danger" into this fucking book
tumblr says i have 1 follower but won't show me who is it and didn't tell me when i was followed. do i have a follower or not tumblr make up your mind
