I want the typical, completely normal POV young character who’s only goal is to do the best that they can for their Clan

I want a character that has fleshed-out relationships with several others

I want a character who has friends

I want a character to get into more and more fights with their friends

I want a character to become more isolated

I want a character to embrace the anger they feel

I want a character that’s tired of doing their best when everything is always falling apart around them

I want a character that’s tired of apologizing when everyone gets so easily angry with them

I want to read the moment their friends go “oh” and realize that something is Terribly Wrong

I want a character to do something horrible

I want a character to realize that they don’t feel bad about it at all

I want a character that will decide to do something horrible again

I want a character to embrace the darkness

I want readers to realize that the character they believed to be the good guy might just end up the villain

We find out that Silverhawk tried to get his son to be leader, and I think it was mentioned that his son ended up dying because of it.

Later on, we know that he trains Thistleclaw and kinda pushes him into the deputy / leader position, almost like he’s making up for his mistake of getting his son killed by trying to succeed this time.

so, correct me if I'm wrong, but in Warriors, the one with the cats, their are gender roles/rules right?

I vaguely remember someone saying all medicine cats are female and their are some otehr rules

Actually not really there might be some in certain parts due to the characters themselves trying to impose gender roles on other characters but there are male medicine cats, though most of them are female because they may be perceived to have more empathy. There are strong female and male warriors, the leaders of the clans are male and female. Though there are times that some will make remarks on how they shouldn't listen to she-cats as they make decisions based off of their feelings, but again it's really more certain characters who are portrayed as being biased. The nursing mothers are of course female to nurse the kits, but there are examples of the father being into helping raise them.

It's more of they go wherever they are useful, there are more female medicine cats because it's more common for them to be smaller and not equipped for fighting, and more male cats are encouraged to become warriors because the need large strong warriors but its not totally gender roles. Females are encouraged to become warriors and the medicine cats are kind of viewed as a fall back position as well, as in the only cats who become medicine cats are those who cant fight, but there are some who go into because they want to.

Sorry for the ramble, and I apologize if I forgot any parts or if I remembered a little wrong.

They might be a little more gender separated at the beginning, but if I remember right, the main character kind of stops a lot of stigmas everywhere he goes.

Do you think Warriors likes or hates pickles?

He genuinely does not care.

Food is food. Between what his family made as a child and then as a solder, and even later during the war, he didn't get the option to be picky. He genuinely doesn't have an opinion on most food, which baffles a lot of people.

He actually doesn't mind Hyrules cooking, and will eat it without complaint. But because he can't resist the urge to tease Twilight, he eats most of Hyrules cooking when no one is looking and slips the rest into the ranchers bowl.

It’s been said a lot in The Prophecies Begin and in the flashbacks of Graystripe’s Vow that Cinderpelt’s wiseness is heavily depended on (it might just be GV, it’s been a while since I read the first series).

Do you think that that ever made Cinderpelt feel extremely pressured? Even if seasons had passed, it was still fairly recently since her mentor, Yellowfang, died. She must have felt vulnerable without the older she-cat’s support, and to have cats depend on her thoughts for serious issues on top of healing her Clanmates, she must have been so stressed out.

Thoughts on Frecklewish and thoughts on Mapleshade:

Frecklewish:

--Hated her when I first read the books (I always took the side of the main character, plus I loved Mapleshade before even reading her novel).

--Still nowhere near my favourite character, but I understand her more now.

--Not only did she see Riverclan warriors coming to save the kits, but that was the same river her brother (and his apprentice) DIED in, a trauma that the reader already knows stuck very strongly with her. Plus the river was in a bad storm, it was very clearly not safe to enter. She has no swimming experience. I definitely do not blame her for staying on land.

--When Mapleshade confronted her, we see a brief moment of how Frecklewish felt about the kits’ deaths. She was upset!

--There are some parts I still don’t like about her, like how she hissed at the three kits and called them monsters.

--She just found out that there were not the kits of her beloved brother, but the kits of the one that caused his death.

Mapleshade:

--Always loved her, still do.

--Love a good revenge story, so got really excited about the book

--I think the writers saw how everyone loved her so much, and decided “let’s sprinkle her in everything” which kinda ruined her character because they’re using her too much.

--I know she’s wrong and did bad things. But this is also a blog made specifically about murderer ocs, so you should already know my thoughts on villains.

Both + conclusion:

--They were both ‘mad’ with grief. The difference is Frecklewish had someone there for her.

--I think it would’ve been more interesting if it was a full super edition. Showing Mapleshade’s fully fleshed out relationships with Appledusk and her Clanmates (but the fact that the book is straight to the point is pretty cool, too).

--Also would’ve been interesting if we saw Mapleshade haunt Appledusk’s kits.

--We should have mixed feelings about characters. That’s what makes them interesting! It would be boring if Frecklewish or Mapleshade was obviosuly the good guy or bad guy.
