Share a snippet from one of your favorite pieces of prose you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.ahhh okay so actually one of my favorite fics i've ever written was a dennis/dee one where they're at the jersey shore as kids. it's one of the few i can go back and read without feeling like flinging myself off a building so that's good news. and probably my fave line was this: "Dee had read somewhere that the only reason sunrises and sunsets were so colorful was due to pollution. Beauty and poison, so closely intertwined. It would make for some great poetic bullshit." again sorry for the formatting but i think dee's headspace is so interesting to get into, she's so #fake deep. definitely not the best thing i've ever written but it was fun and easy.14. What’s the worst writing advice you’ve ever come across?"Write what you know." what does that even MEAN. my life is so got damn boring, if i only wrote what i knew you guys would read nothing but fics about raising kids and getting rained on. the great thing about writing (and reading) is that you get to challenge yourself and learn new things and consider new experiences from new points of view. i've never been to a desert but that doesn't mean i can't learn how people live there, and imagine how it might feel to have sand sticking to your lips and gumming up your eyelashes, and how i could translate that all into language that puts a reader right there in that imagined headspace. tldr the write what you know idea drives me crazy lmao.
