WHAT: Lou falls asleep at Khy’s but has a nightmare.
NOTES: rape mention tw.
Lou had fallen asleep at Khy's house, and in his bed more often than she'd probably admit to out loud. Nothing had happened, not since the morning that she kissed him, but she certainly didn't mind. It was just nice to be able to spend time with him, and being around him put her at ease. Which was exactly why she was pressed up against him now as she slept. Normally she slept pretty peacefully at Khy's, it was when she was alone that she had nightmares, but tonight was different. Sometimes she had nightmares that were more abstract, but tonight it practically just her memory replaying itself. She was in the same hotel room, her teacher on top of her, undoing her pants, as she tried to fight him off. She was so weak from whatever he'd put her in drink that she could barely even move, her hands felt numb as she tried to use them to fight, to push against his chest. Lou kept mumbling 'no,' and 'stop,' over and over he kept going, as she got weaker and weaker and too weak to fight.
Khy was sure spending too many nights like this with Lou could probably end up being a bad thing, and as much as he wanted to put a stop to it, he was starting to like having her around more often than not. He could've easily picked her up and put her in the guest room, but with her fast asleep and basically attached to him he decided against it. He usually stayed up after she fell asleep since he could never go to sleep at a reasonable time, but tonight was one of the nights he had wished he did as Lou began to talk in her sleep. Khy He hadn't been doing anything to her so he didn't understand why she had been pushing him, so he just let her be as he brought his focus back to the TV. It wasn't until she started talking in her sleep that he found himself getting worried. Waking her up seemed like a slippery slope since she seemed to be having a nightmare, but Khy couldn't keep letting whatever was bothering her continue to do so. "Hey," he said softly as he shook her, trying his best to get her to wake up.
Lou tried to will herself to wake up as everything in her nightmare just grew worse and worse. When she heard a voice that sounded like it was coming from somewhere else in the room, she tried looking around but then suddenly she was snapped awake. Lou gasped, confusion filling her sense. She didn't know where she was or what was happening, all she knew was someone's hand was on her, someone was next to her, and she wanted to get away from whoever it was. Lou scrambled away, practically jumping off the bed, her knees and hand shaking as she tried to gain her footing, tried to figure out what was happening. Looking around the room, her eyes finally settled on Khy, and after a brief moment of deep confusion, suddenly everything made sense. And while her knees continued to shake with fear, her legs wobbly underneath her, as her panic still flooded through her whole body, it was met with embarrassment over what had just happened. Her eyes burned as they filled with tears, and her face turned beet red, a sob escaping her. Lou covered her mouth, fighting back those same tears from spilling over. "Oh, god." She whispered, "I'm so sorry." She sobbed, her embarrassment taking over as her shaky legs carried her to the bathroom, shutting the door behind her. Lou sank down onto the floor, her back pressed against the tub, trying to let the coolness calm her down, but her panic wasn't going away, and neither was her embarrassment and all she could do was cry.
Khy tried to make sense of what was happening but it was completely lost on him. He could tell she was having a nightmare though that's as far as his knowledge went on the subject. Finally getting her to wake up, he went to pull her closer in an attempt to comfort her but she managed to get away before he could. Did he do something wrong that he wasn't aware of? Was he the one she was having the nightmares about? Whether he was or not, questioning her about it didn't see like an option as he watched Lou go to the bathroom and shut the door behind her. Consoling people had never been his strong suit, and when he was the reason behind the person being upset it seemed to make things that much harder. Khy got out of bed, walked over to the bathroom door and just stood there trying to figure out what to say, if he should say anything at all. Taking a deep breath, he knocked softly on the door and waited for an answer. "Hey, you know you don't have to apologize, right? It's not like you beat me up in your sleep or anything." He said, not sure if that was the right approach or not. "If you want we can just forget it happen, or we can talk about it if that's more your speed. And if you don't want any of that then I can just sleep in the other room or take you home, just let me y'know, help."
Lou tried to calm herself down as he spoke, listening through the door. She didn't want to talk about it, not really, and she certainly didn't want to sleep alone after that, wether it was here or at home, but she didn't think either of them could really forget it. Lou reached up to the door, turning the knob to open it so he could come in if he wanted, as she pulled her knees up to chest, her free arm wrapping around them. "I am sorry." She said, her voice shaking as she wiped her tears away, "I'm sorry that it even happened. I'm so embarrassed." She said softly, "It's embarrassing that I'm 25 years old and I have...Nightmares." She bit her lip, "I have nightmares and then I spend the whole night awake, with all the lights on, watching cartoons because I'm too afraid to go back to sleep." Her tears only seemed to grow stronger as she looked down to realize her hands were shaking. Lou brought them in between her stomach and her legs, trying to hold her hands steady. "If you want to bring me home, or to sleep in the other room, I don't blame you, but-" She cut herself off, her eyes looking up to meet his, "I'm afraid to be alone."
Khy waited outside the door for some kind of sign that she was okay or at lease okay enough to consider his offer. He didn't have a plan of action if she did happen to accept it but he would just make it up as he went along. Seeing the door open, he took a step back before peeking in so he could see her. "Don't be sorry. I've dealt with worse, so you've got no reason to be embarrassed." He said remembering when he thought it was a good idea to move in with his friends, and all those sleepless nights in Atlanta. Khy wanted to tell Lou that he had nightmares too but he didn't want to make this about him. Instead he inched into the bathroom and joined her on the floor, doing his best not to get too close just in case she still needed space. "If you want we can get back in bed and watch some cartoons until you fall asleep again, or until you're ready to go home if you don't end up falling asleep. Either option you choose we still get to watch some cartoons."
Lou was grateful that he was trying to make her feel better, though she didn’t know what he meant by having dealt with worse, and she wanted to ask but didn’t want to push. Instead, she just put it away so she could ask about it later. When he sat next to her, she reached a hand out, resting it on his forearm, wanting to have contact with him. Normally, he made her feel much more safe, tonight was just a fluke, but that didn’t mean she didn’t still want him to hold her and make her feel that same security. She just didn’t know how to ask for it. What she really wanted was to just get back in his bed, have him hold her while she let herself cry, but was sure that wouldn’t sound very appealing to him, so instead she wiped away her tears again, willing herself not to let anymore slip by. She was sure she’d fail again at some point, but at least she could stop long enough to nod her head at his offer, “Please.” She whispered, not knowing what else to say
Khy placed his hand on top of hers as she touched him, eventually taking it into his own as he waited for her to say something. Seeing her like this made him sad, that sadness turned to anger in the blink of an eye once he realized why she was like this. He knew taking matters into his own hands would solve nothing, but Khy felt like it would help him get over what happened to them because of someone else's actions. After the brief conversation he had with Mad about it, he was more than willing to make their problem go away, but dragging Lou's cousin into what he had planned probably wouldn't be smart if he were to get caught. Still sitting there in silence, he shook his head at the situation at hand, trying not to let himself get angry all over again like he did when she first told him. Finally hearing her say something, Khy gave her a silent nod and stood up, bending over he scooped the girl into his arms and carried her back into the bedroom. Placing her in the bed, he quickly made his way to the other side and climbed in. "So what do you want to watch?" He asked as he picked up the remote.
Lou knew he said she didn't need to apologize, but it was all she felt like she wanted to do, just tell him how sorry she was about tonight, about acting like this, about being like this, about everything that had happened. Instead she stayed silent, trying to even out her breathing, rather than the short, shallow breaths that had been coming out of her from the mix of crying and fear. She hadn't expected him to pick her up, but when he did, her arms wrapped around his neck, and she was right, because being in his arms did make her feel better, so much so that when he put her down on the bed she didn't want to let go. She did, of course, but when he climbed into the bed next to her, she didn't hesitate to slide closer to him again. "Is this okay?" She asked, looking up at him, and then at the TV when he spoke, shrugging a shoulder, "I usually go with Phineas and Ferb, but I'm good with some more Bob's if you're good with that."
Khy instinctively put his arm around Lou as she got closer to him. Hearing her question, he glanced down at her and couldn't help but smirk when their eyes briefly locked. "Yeah," he said with a nod. He knew it was probably the wrong time to be smiling, but even when she was sad she still managed to look cute and make him melt right where he was. This is why he didn't wanted to spend as much time together though it was also the reason why he couldn't leave her alone. As much as he hated that she was back in his life and his feelings were all over the place because of it, it felt nice to actually feel something other than just anger and sadness for once. "I'm cool with Phineas and Ferb if that's what you want to watch. I don't really have a preference when it comes to watching cartoons."
Lou could feel her whole body relax when his arm went around her. It was almost strange how much of an effect he had on her, but at the same time he always had that affect on her. A part of her wanted to kiss him again, but her eyes were puffy, and she was sure she looked like a giant mess, and not to mention he'd told her to ask next time, and she didn't want him to feel like he had to say yes because she was upset. Instead, she pressed a short kiss to his cheek, "Thank you, Khyree." She whispered, before resting her head on his shoulder. "Phineas it is, then." She grinned, looking back up at him, grateful that he didn't seem to be put off by her behavior.
Khy smiled when he felt the kiss on his cheek. It wasn't really anything special but to him, in this moment, the kiss seemed way more important than he would let on. Now that he wasn't as upset with her as he was, everything she was doing was starting to have the same effect it use to on him. He should have been fighting it just in case he had to keep himself guarded this time around, but for some reason he felt like that wouldn't be the case this time around. "No problem." Letting his heart get the better of him, he leaned down a placed a small kiss against her lips and lingered there for a few seconds before pulling away. "Totally just broke my own kissing rule but I couldn't help it." He said, a smirk playing on his lips as he turned to look at the TV.
Lou was shocked when he kissed her, it was the last thing she expected, especially after the night they'd had, and after she told him that she still had feelings for him, but she certainly didn't mind. She let her own lips linger on his, pushing herself just a bit closer to him. When he spoke, she couldn't stop her blush, instead hiding it by burying half of her face against his chest, her hand covering the other half as a small laugh escaped her. "Well, I don't mind." She whispered, finally settling back against his shoulder, feeling much more relaxed already.
