Beginnings of my altar to Tyche Fortuna.
I’ve been having a bad string of luck this year. I had to leave my job, got into a car accident that totaled my car, my laptop completely crapped out, and so far after several interviews in the past 3 months I still have no callbacks. I’m grateful that I have my health, a home, and family support because I wouldn’t have made it out. Still, my savings are depleting and I’ve become disheartened.
I have 3 big interviews this week, one being tomorrow. Tonight I made an altar to Tyche Fortuna (and also made a libation offering to my deities I’m a devotee to Hekate and Dionysus) (plus Hermes for a luck boost). I lit green candles, burned and bay leaf, made khernips water. I said in my mind (I’m still in the broom closet with family I live with) “As I flip this coin from tails to heads, so does my fortune change in my favor. And so it is.” I held and old Indian head penny and flipped it from tails to heads and placed it in the altar.
IMMEDIATELY the flame of Tyche’s candles burned higher. After a minute I put them out because fire safety is important!!
Here’s to hoping my fortune does indeed turn. 🍀🎲🪙🐇🎱🥠🔮
