During the times in TYEE when Eight was more free to roam about the palace, what did he do when he wasn’t with Arcann? Were there any activities that he was partial to?
He read a lot, mostly. He used his free time to gather as much information as he could about Zakuul and its culture, so he also began practicing the written and spoken language. There wasn't much he could do besides engage with harmless texts, other than going for walks in the gardens or swimming in the royal pools. He also enjoys training by himself quite a bit, but that's not so much a hobby as him trying to maintain himself.
Something he also never tried until he was brought to Zakuul was stargazing and mapping out the constellations from where he could see them in Zakuul's skies, trying to figure out if he could spot his own star system from here or simply track the seasons changing. It brings him a sense of peace that he never really had, so to speak.
