Raiders Of The Lost Island Consignment Shop – Part 69
PART SEVENTY TO FOLLOW … TOMORROW!
We’ve got three episodes already in the can - get our fingers out and it will be four in a row. Since the start of 2020, we’ve managed to average out an episode of Raiders once every ten days - a far cry from the struggles before and demotivation which came with it.
Today’s episode was actually the third finished. We decided to give the Magical folk a proper send off where the four separate groups during the Moonlight Falls phase finally unite, or reunite, depending on your viewpoint - and an airing to the improved version of Fay Dunbar and Hannah Abbott (the latter seen only).
Apart from the crowds during the match, the rest of what you see came from screenshots of what they got up to in the game and making dialogue to fit around it.
The only other exception is of course Katie Tygercat and Chase Ziekenz - using the CEO pose, c/o NRaas Industries Animator.
Some Thoughts On NRaas Animater vs Cmomoney Poseplayer
Here’s a tip - if you have a choice between using it and Pose Player, use the NRaas Animator unless you have no choice.
Yes, it’s more limited, but it won’t break your heart the way Pose Player does.
We always wondered why ‘modelling competitions’ tended to produce some of the Simming community’s biggest prima donnas - now we wonder whether it’s the temprementality of Pose Player which makes them so ... well ... tempremental!
With Poseplayer, you have to wait one to two minutes for the bloody thing to reload all the poses into itself every time. That kinda begins to rack up the minutes and hours more than you realise.
Then there’s Pose Player’s temprementality.
For example, you chose a pose (after going away to make a pot of tea to give it time to get its finger out ...) , you go back to the game, you find the Simmie hasn’t ‘taken’ the pose after a minute of waiting for the game to adjust.
The solution? You have to cancel the pose chosen, immediately click on Pose Player again, and chose ‘Use Current Pose’ to get the f**ker to now work!
Another example is crashing the whole f**king game without warning if it feels ‘overworked’.
Oh, but it was made by one of the blessed Delphy’s disciples, ergo it is absolutely perfect and causes no problems whatsosever and anyone saying otherwise is a nazi fascist homophobic racist mass murderer, right kids?
(The fact Pose Player was put in an object you have to search through your catalogue to find in the first place, to put on the lot you’re going to do the poses in - instead of simply accessible through the gameplay desktop like NRaas’ mods and thus more flexible - says it all about some of those bumnuggets who get praised to the skies in the Simming world because they rimjobbed the right people. Ho hum ...)
Okay, rant over!
If NRaas ever made a Poseplayer of their own, we’d stake our lives on Cmomoney’s one being binned faster than an ‘Everyone Loves Raymond’ complete series box set given to you at Christmas by a relative who needs their head shut repeatedly in an industrial fridge door.
Tygercat, Chase and Taffers
The more observant may remember Tygercat has been mentioned twice before in the story, once by Moryrie disparagingly (who regards her as a traitor) and once during Boolprop’s mysterious flight of trained ducks (during the Bracemoor jailbreak) as having filed a report ... the same episode where the Hogwarts and Cackles Academy lot first meet.
This is a remodelling of her Simself by us (well, the Jazz-Hands half ... appropriately enough!) - the original one from the EA forum she never appeared to have bothered to update since June 2009.
The other character is Chase, who for the non-Boolpropian (as they call themselves) has been there for as long as we can remember, and nowadays is an administrator. For anyone wondering the criteria on those Taffers whose Simselves we’ve used (and will be using) ... the answer is simple: those available.
We had a right bloody job getting a working version of Rosa Blams (who we are assuming is Blamsart’s Simself) and a number of others, but that’s another rant for another time.
Moral of the Story, if you download Simmies from the EA forum with ‘included’ custom content (aaarrrgggh!), decrap using S3PE, extract the Simmie only, and put into your Library - never attempt to load them into your game via the launcher.
