@tylerxsun Tyler hated to admit, but Axel clearly had more experience than him in the art of combat. Tyler didn’t channel any of his rune, and Axel didn’t rely on his vampiric enhanced speed and power. However, every time Tyler struck, Axel somehow managed to dodge it or block it with seemingly minimal effort.
“You will get hit, vampire!” Tyler announced, with the bo staff he has an advantage of long reach with his weapon. He swung his staff, attempted to hit Axel from the side, which he damn well knew Axel would be able to block it. Tyler stepped in quickly, brought up the other end of his staff and went straight for Axel’s throat!
Axel used one blade to block the staff and as Tyler stepped in he realized his mistake. To rectify he dropped the second blade and moved to grip the other end of the weapon, sliding the one sword up the length to perhaps force Tyler back while he attempted to twist the staff from his grip. Part of him was focused on making sure he didn’t use more strength than would be reasonable, while in a fight there were no rules this was sparring and cheating never settled right.
“You seem very certain that you’ll succeed, shadowhunter. I do hate to disappoint you.”
