//the second you used the word trend means they’re gonna deviate from everything. Matsuda openly stated he hates being predictable and thats why ORAS didn’t happen until 6th Gen and Gen 5 got sequels instead
true, but nintendo has made it clear that the 3DS won’t be dying any time soon (unlike the wiiu) and I can’t imagine pokémon is going to get a main-series installment on the switch given that he’s also stated he doesn’t feel pkmn belongs on home console. (paraphrasing, but I definitely remember something about him saying he wanted to keep it portable.) granted, the switch is very very different from previous consoles and the whole blending portable and home console might change that, but it’s hard to say. not only that, but the switch just seems too new for that. it’s still only a few months old and i feel like throwing a pokemon game on there so soon would isolate a lot of fans who can’t afford to get a totally new console. especially not too long after sun and moon came out. it feels way too drastic for me.
but hey watch me be proven totally 100% wrong tomorrow like i was about mega ampharos being fake when it was leaked. who knows. //shrug emoji
