A night out with Type and Champ was not uncommon. Techno enjoyed their boys’ nights out usually. But over the last few weeks, things had started to feel different. 

Type and Champ had always been attentive, but now... Techno felt like the center of attention. And it felt good. It felt great actually, to have their attention. Type’s presence was always warm and comforting. Champ was lively and cheery.

The two of them never seemed to fail at putting a smile on Techno’s face. And Techno found himself wanting to do the same for them.

But tonight, on what should have been a normal night out, there seemed to be a tension in the air between all three. 

Type’s arm around Techno’s shoulders felt laden with feeling. Champ’s grip on Techno’s wrist was just a shade tighter than normal. They placed food frequently on Techno’s plate and Techno laughed and did the same to them. They split the bill as usual, but Type paid for ice cream and Champ paid for bubble tea, and Techno was left with something in each hand, having the time of his life. 

And then Type’s eyes were sparkling and Champ’s face got even closer and someone’s lips brushed across Techno’s cheeks and everyone froze.

“Did you just-”

“Ai No, I can- No, we can explain...” Champ stuttered.

“Are we... Are we on a date right now?”

Type and Champ looked at each other before nodding. “Yes, this is a date. If it’s okay with you, Ai No.”

“Well then...” Techno carefully put his arms through Champ’s and Type’s to pull them closer. “We should continue, huh?”

The relief coming off of Type and Champ was palpable.

They ended the night at Type’s apartment, curled up on his bed, Techno in the middle. 

“Will you let us date you?” Champ whispered into Techno’s hair. “Because we’d really really love to date you.”

“A lot,” Type added.

Techno pulled Type and Champ’s arms over and around him. “Can we stay like this forever?”

Champ curled himself over Techno’s back and Type pressed himself even closer to Techno’s front. 

“We’ll stay here with you for as long as you’ll have us, Ai No,” Champ said with a kiss to the back of Techno’s neck.

“Always,” Type said as he pressed a kiss to Techno’s forehead.

Techno smiled and drifted off, warm, happy, and comfortable between the people he cared about the most.

Summary: Type and Champ always want to do right by Techno. Their sweet captain deserves the best, after all (even if they tease him a little bit). And whenever all three of them go on a date, Type and Champ will always go the extra mile just to see Techno smile.

Techno peered into his sports locker. He was sure he had left a spare pair of uniform shorts here last week. The pair in question were suddenly flung at him from his left, already smelling musty with sweat.

“Did you have to throw them at me?!” Techno pouted as he removed the offending cloth from his head to see twin grins from Type and Champ. Techno gulped. He knew what those grins meant.

Type leaned against the lockers and raised an eyebrow. Champ came from behind and put his arms around Techno’s waist, resting his chin on Techno’s shoulder. Faced with this much attention, despite how often it happened, Techno blushed.

“Ai No, when are you going to get used to us?” Type teased as he pinched Techno’s reddening cheek.

“I hope never. Ai No is cutest like this,” Champ said, nuzzling one of Techno’s ears.

Techno’s blush darkened. “Oi! If the juniors start teasing me like this because of both of you-”

“We’ll be there to stop them. Won’t we, Ai Champ?”

“The only ones who get to tease you this way,” Champ said as he let one of his hands wander up Techno’s t-shirt, “Are us.” Champ smiled at the hitch in Techno’s breath.

“Now, you’re free tonight, Ai No,” Type said. It wasn’t a question, but Techno nodded anyway, his head full of fluff from his boyfriends. “Great, we’re going out tonight. Let’s meet up at the parking lot. Ai Champ is driving tonight.”

Type kissed Techno’s left cheek and Champ kissed Techno’s right cheek before they sauntered off. Techno rubbed both cheeks furiously, as if it would make the redness go away faster.

Techno’s blush lingered throughout practice no matter what he did.

It didn’t help that he had to sit back and watch Type and Champ run laps instead of distracting himself by running as well.

Type and Champ attempted to delay Techno after practice with teasing kisses, wandering hands, and devilish pinches after practice. Techno warded them off with slaps of his towel and indignant shouts. The two of them ran off like giggling school children. Techno managed a quick shower in peace afterwards before heading to class.

The memories of sweet kisses under the shower kept him smiling all day.

Even now, after dating Type and Champ for a few months, Techno still got dizzy remembering how it all happened. At first, he thought Type and Champ were suddenly rivals for the same girl or boy.

The two of them were normally laid back, but after Techno had been voted captain they were suddenly tripping over themselves to show off during practice. Type started leaving the top two buttons of his shirt open during classes. Champ started wiping his brow with the hem of his t-shirt. More than once, both of them had poured perfectly good drinking water on to their heads to cool off when a tap was just a few feet away.

But then whenever Techno was alone with either, he was constantly pulled close, given teasing smiles and casual touches from gentle hands. A sharp contrast to Klengkla’s secretive smiles, firm grip, and ambiguous statements. Technic also appeared to go silent whenever Type and Champ were near. Technic also seemed to defer to them for taking care of Techno instead of constantly being in his business like he had started doing a few weeks prior.

And so it went until one day they spotted Klengkla marching up to him, furious for some bizarre reason. Type and Champ pulled Techno away before Klengkla could even get close. Tucked away in some hidden corner of the Sports Science building, they kissed Techno, one after the other, leaving Techno’s lips aching, but not from soreness. Offered confessions, one after the other. And then offered both their hands together.

Techno was understandably overwhelmed. He’d never thought he’d ever be in a relationship, much less a polyamorus one with Type and Champ.

But they were so good to him. And it was easy to fall for their charms. So easy to fall into one pair of arms or another without judgement or fear. They took turns listening to Techno’s day, buying him lunch, and paying for Techno on dates when he couldn’t pay for himself.

And the sleepovers? Techno thought it would be weird to share a bed with two other people, all grown-up and different body types. But somehow they all fit together, pieces of a puzzle with Techno at the center of it all. It was oddly comfortable, waking up on the weekends in a tangle of limbs and lazy morning kisses before they all had breakfast and got down to finishing up the homework that had built up over the week.

They had yet to work out being more physically intimate but Type and Champ weren’t pushing. Even if Champ had a bad case of wandering hands and Type had a bad case of wandering lips. Both left Techno red in the face and hot under the collar. But when Techno drew the line, Type and Champ happily fell into place.

And their dates? Well…

Champ leaned against his car while Techno shuffled over. His smile was blinding as he tugged Techno closer by his belt loops, offering up his lips for a kiss. Techno complied happily. The feeling of another warm body settling against Techno’s back and larger hands on his hips alerted Techno to the presence of Type.

Type pressed a soft kiss to Techno’s jaw and was content to have his share of holding him close after a long day of classes.

Sandwiched between his two boyfriends, a small bit of privacy in public as it were, a soft smile formed on Techno’s face.

“Na, if all you wanted to do was cuddle, you didn’t have to tell me to come on a date with both of you,” Techno said. “Where are we going?”

Type pulled Techno back gently, giving Champ enough room to open the passenger door for Techno with a bow. “We’re going to grab dinner and then go back to my place for a sleepover. Does that sound okay?” Type asked. “Of course we also have that group project due soon for English. Why not work on it together this weekend?”

Techno turned enough to see Type’s face before pinching his cheek. “You’re being so cheeky lately. Fine, I’ll tell my parents I’m not coming home tonight. You have clothes I can borrow for tonight?”

“Champ won the coin toss. You get to borrow his clothes tonight.”

“Don’t sound so sour about it, at least you won the toss to host,” Champ pointed out.

“Techno looks cuter in my shirts cause they’re bigger,” Type argued back.

“Irrelevant! We’re both at least one size bigger than he is. He looks cute anyway.”

“I can’t believe we argue over whose clothes I’m borrowing,” Techno interjected.

“It’s better than arguing over stupid things, like who gets to spend more time with you,” Champ said with a shrug.

“Or who’s supposed to pay for the whole date or something,” Type added.

This time Techno’s smile reached his eyes.

Dinner was hotpot.

The smell of the broth boiling was delightful. Type and Champ came back laden with plates full of different things and Type seasoned the broth as Champ and Techno debated what to cook first.

Type and Champ took turns putting food on Techno’s plate. All his favorite cuts and pieces slowly piled up. Techno actually started batting their chopsticks away.

“Aish, when are you two going to eat anything? If I eat all of this, you’ll have to roll me out of here!”

“You barely ate anything all day. Stop buying the juniors lunch all the time. Can’s got his own damn boyfriend to take care of him now,” Champ said as he peeled a shrimp.

“But I-”

“Yes, we know, you’re the captain,” Type said to cut off Techno before holding a piece of fish cake to his mouth. “You are our lovely captain, but you spoil the juniors all the time. They’ll have to learn to fend for themselves one day and your wallet isn’t bottomless.”

Techno ate the fish cake with a pout on his face. Champ put the peeled shrimp on Techno’s plate in exchange for a piece of beef Techno wasn’t eating before pinching his cheek. “Don’t look so petulant unless you want to be punished.”

“And how exactly are you going to punish me?”

Type and Champ exchanged glances. “You have to give us 100 kisses on the cheek, each.”

“Absolutely not!”

Stomachs full to bursting, the trio opted for a walk around the mall before heading back to Type’s apartment. Champ and Type readied themselves to play rock-paper-scissors while Techno looked on, amused by their antics.

While the two of them battled it out, Techno bought a drink and made sure it was a large. Type and Champ always stole sips of Techno’s drinks even when they had their own in their hands. By the time Type returned, Champ held out his left hand.

“I get to hold your hand while we’re walking,” he explained.

Techno placed his hand in Champ’s, lacing their fingers together. Champ’s hands were just a tad warmer than Techno’s. Type, not wanting to be left out, put his arm around Techno’s shoulders. It should have looked and felt awkward. Techno loved it.

With Type and Champ at either side, Techno was never without attention or affection. They humored all the things he thought looked interesting. They only teased him a little about the toys he thought were cute.

They also made recommendations as they passed by an underwear store. Techno made a face before pointing at something and suggesting Type and Champ wear it for their anniversary. When the two of them gave the article of clothing contemplative looks, Techno pulled them away. There was no real need to give either of them ideas.

At Type’s apartment, as was typical of all their sleepovers, Techno was allowed to shower and change first. When Techno emerged, Champ’s t-shirt hung loosely around his neck, exposing his collarbone and Champ’s sweatpants were just a tad too loose around his hips no matter how tightly he tied them. Techno shivered, feeling Champ’s eyes look over his exposed skin. Type motioned for Techno to sit between his legs before taking the towel away from him and drying his hair. Techno allowed himself to be pampered as Champ went for his shower.

“You always smell so nice after a shower,” Type said as he kissed the top of Techno’s head.

Techno scrunched up his face despite the blush forming. “Aish, stop preening over the smell of your bath products.”

“It’s not the products, it’s you.” Type tilted Techno’s head to the side to sniff at his neck. “Always so sweet.” Techno shivered.

“Hey, my turn. Go take your shower,” Champ said while throwing a towel at Type.

Type rolled his eyes and slung the towel over his shoulder as he headed to the bathroom. Champ plopped himself in front of Techno and held out his towel.

“So spoiled, the both of you,” Techno chided but he took the towel and dried Champ’s hair anyway.

“Only because you keep spoiling us.”

Techno looked away from Champ with his smiling eyes. “When you both keep looking at me like that, who could say no?”

Before Champ could push the subject, Type pushed him to the side before offering his towel.

“Hey! I wasn’t done yet!”

“Yeah well it’s my turn now.”

Champ huffed and settled for curling around Techno as he dried Type’s hair.

Techno felt himself being lifted and arranged before he woke up, bleary eyed. They had started watching some TV and Techno figured he must have drifted off. Type tucked Techno into his side and Champ draped himself over Techno’s back, his arm coming around the rest of them.

Techno pressed a kiss against Type’s cheek before turning and pressing one against Champ’s. The two replied with their kisses to Techno’s cheeks.

Techno sighed, happy and content. “Good night, Type, Champ.”

“Good night, sweet Techno,” Type replied.

“Good night, lovely Techno,” Champ replied.

Techno mimed gagging for appearances sake before snuggling closer to Type and pulling Champ closer as well. He drifted off to sleep with a smile.
