All this anger about Paul Walker’s death being more of a big deal to people than [insert tragedy here] isn’t really, I don’t know, warranted? He was a popular actor. A lot of people knew him. He left behind a daughter and a lot of friends and family. I’ve never seen a single one of his movies, but that thought kinda hurts. All those people who feel like they’re missing something… even if they’ve never met him. Tragedy is relative.
So don’t get angry about people paying attention to Paul Walker’s death. Get angry at the people who are disrespectful of any loss or tragedy. People who joke in appropriately about the typhoon in the Philippines. People who laugh about all the families in my state of Illinois that recently lost their homes in a tornado. People who would say they’re glad that a man loved by millions is dead. Tragedy is relative. Please be sensitive to that.
