Typhoon Yolanda 2013
People in the Philippines, especially Central Visayas where Typhoon Yolanda is expected to make its landfall, let's all be prepared for the upcoming Typhoon.
Here's a typhoon preparedness tips from The ProPinoy Project website.
Typhoon Yolanda is expected to make its landfall on Friday, so let's all be prepared on Thursday. Buy ready-to-eat foods, lots of gallons of water, flashlights, candles, first-aid kit, medicines, make sure your cellphones and important gadgets are fully charged (and make sure you do have regular loads). If you can, clean your canals so the water can flow easily.
On Friday, be very vigilant in your surroundings, if you think the rain water is rising very quickly, start packing your clothes, perhaps, and if you have a two-storey house, start bringing important things and appliances up on the second floor.
Stay inside your house as much as possible and avoid floodwaters and PLEASE TURN OFF AND UNPLUG EVERYTHING to avoid being electrocuted. I don't know if turning off all our appliances can help avoiding this but just to be sure, let's avoid using electricity.
And for everyone who has work, ask your supervisors if you will be working on Friday to avoid going to your offices and then go back home because of the strong typhoon. If ever I have an office work and the company doesn't give any feedback about allowing the employees to be absent that day, I won't mind having my salary deducted, I'll just make sure that I'm with my family. Don't compromise your safety just for a day's salary, it can still be replaced soon. BUT I REALLY HOPE THAT THE COMPANIES REALLY CARE FOR THEIR EMPLOYEES' WELFARE.
For those who have classes, ask your Chairman, your teachers or anyone if classes will be suspended because of the typhoon. I have a little brother who goes to school and my family will be worried sick if the classes will not be suspended.
But most of all, let's all PRAY. Only our God Almighty can make the typhoon change its course or at least, lessen its speed / the water it brings or all in all, lessen its strength... Or make the typhoon just go away with a blink of an eye. Yes, nothing's impossible with Him!
