why i love the German language

if you don’t pronounce a sentence right it can be very sexual

"jemanden festnehmen" - to arrest somebody

"jemanden fest nehmen" - to fuck someone really hard

"zusammenkommen" - to meet with someone

"zusammen kommen" - to have an orgasm together

"gut zu Vögeln sein" - being nice to birds

"gut zu vögeln sein" - to be good in bed

translating German expressions word by word doesn’t make any sense

"Mach den Kopf zu" - close your head (stop talking because it’s all bullshit)

"Jetzt geht’s um die Wurst" - Now it goes around the sausage (all or nothing)

"Du bist auf dem Holzweg" - There you are on the woodway (you’re completely wrong)

"Rache ist Blutwurst" - Revenge is black pudding (yeah there is no translation for that one at all)

"Ich glaub, ich spinne" - I think I spider (I believe I’m dreaming)

"Mein Englisch ist unter aller Sau" - my English is under all pig (my English is just the worst)

"Na da haben wir den Salat" - Well, there we have the salad (well, here we have what we deserve)

- "Du gehst mir tierisch auf den Keks!" - You go me animal on the cookie! (You get on my nerves)

When we don't care about something we say "Das ist mir Wurst" which means "That means sausages to me." I think that is beautiful. When we are upset we sometimes say "Hei-lands Donnerwetter" which means a bit like "Hight lands thunder weather." Wonderful. When there are good and bad sides of a thing we say "Da sind zwei Seiten einer Medalie" and that means "There are two sides of a medal." If that ain't poetic.
