TUTORIAL: typography effect
How to make something like this: (used on this typography edit)
1. Create your background (choose any colour, paint the layer and add noise to it)
2. Insert or create a ribbon texture (I got mine from indemne)
3. Insert a text layer and write the word, I used motto. (the colour does not matter.)
4. Select the text layer (ctrl+click text layer; make sure you click on the "T" bit) then delete the selection from the ribbon texture layer. Now hide the text layer.
5. Select the text layer again and invert the selection (ctrl+shift+click text layer; make sure you click on the "T" bit).
6. Create a new layer (ctrl+shift+n) and paint the inside Os to what ever colour you want, I used red. (make sure you only paint the inside!!)
7. Click on the single column marquee.
(really confusing step) 8. On the layer where you coloured the Os, use the single column marquee to delete columns from the layer. (I start at the edge and use my right arrow key to move two places to the right and delete and so on...). Continue until both Os are striped. When you're done, you should get this:
