honestly i was praying that this would come in. family is the most important thing to marg (why else would she marry her brothers lover, a psychopath and a child if not for her family).
now marg is the baby tyrell, and that is a hugely significant part of her character. all of her bros want to protect her but they do it in very different ways (loras goes for actual physical violence/aggression. lovely lorry.) and as a result her relationship with all three of them is close, but subtly different?
this got kinda long so, under the cut!
willas is her biggest bro && she adores him. she was young when he had his accident (canon has him anywhere between 13 & 7 years older than marg. i stick with the middle of that seen as garlan is 7!.) so whilst everyone else wept and wailed at his injuries she was just his little sister who was happy he was awake and that had a profound effect on how they viewed one another. (i stg in modern au she sits in the hospital drawing princesses and flowers all over his cast and it is the cutest damn thing you ever saw). willas is the bro that is most like marg in terms of his scheming, && i can see them sticking their heads together and plotting into the night. they aren’t able to defend their house in a physical battle, so they became students of olenna. also, fluffy hc alert; when she was younger, at highgarden && she wanted to escape the noise and chaos that was garlan and loras she would take herself off to the library with willas and let him read to her.
garlan is just SUCH a sweetheart in all verses (look at any interaction sansa has with him in KL) && as a result hes quite different to marg (not that she isn’t nice, but see above about scheming). they are fighting for the same outcome in very different ways && they compliment one another very, very well. not that garlan is all brawn, i refuse to believe any child of a hightower is stupid (thanks momma!) but he has honed different skills. i mean, come on, dude trains against four men! he was victorous at the blackwater despite wearing renlys armour! (honestly i could talk about that alone 5ever). marg hardcore ships leonette && garlan, i mean, she often looks at them and laments this endless grasp for power if the alternative is the way her brother looks at his wife. but. like i said at the start, marg loves her family and she will forgo that to secure their position.
uh... yknow, meet someone cute, hang out with friends from tumblr, go to a cool cafe or something, spend the whole day without being anxious once and be happy and confident, maybe drive somewhere really cool and hang out at the beach at night

you see this is hard because i literally did nothing all year but uhhh oh people really don't want to hear this b/c its boring but i grew in my faith a lot.
20. How did you spend Christmas?
I spent it at home! i had family come in and we had a nice quiet Christmas and then my grandpa's really fancy Christmas party where i drank eight Shirley temples?

ahh, i didn't read that much in 2014 which sucks but uh i just read i wrote this for you which was amazing to say the least.
35: Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2014.
i never learn anything and repeat the same mistake five times before i change something but i guess this year i realized i don't always have to be sad all the time? its hard to explain but i guess i learned that thinking about how sad you are is actually a large part of the problem. Like, the less i thought about how sad i was the happier i became? wow this doesn't make sense but there ya go.
(which is not to say that depression and the like can be cured by ~*not thinking about it*~ but i can't put it into better words)
