Veronica was never totally comfortable hearing Destinee irate. Although it was never her fault, she always felt a bit responsible for the anger because she couldn’t fix it. She was working on that in therapy though. Either way, she was desperately in love with the other woman although the words never passed her lips. Veronica wasn’t sure they ever would. “Hi, I brought you a coffee and a croissant. I assumed you did not factor food into your busy day.” They were not officially together and Veronica would never instigate the conversation that would end in either rejection or a proper connection. She set the coffee and paper bag down on Destinee’s desk then stood back. Tugging her light colored cardigan closer around herself, Veronica prepared herself to be told to leave. Maybe she went too far, going to the other’s office with a pastry.
destinee was aware that she could be .. intimidating , but it was her job to make sure that everything was running smoothly at the university──a significant step up from her former position as the director of the local arts center. she was used to managing budgets and selecting art exhibits for the gallery , but dealing with students and staff could sometimes prove challenging. thankfully , the person who’d stepped through her door was not there on business. “ my god , you’re a saint. ” she breathed out , both hands moving to pull the items closer. veronica was right ; she hadn’t factored in breakfast .. or lunch. there was just so much to do , and so little time. “ i swear , these people have been riding my ass all morning about the new featured artist. i haven’t even had time to think. ” never one to forget her manners , the older brunette climbed back onto her feet to circle around to the other side of her desk and greet veronica with a proper kiss.
