!             SHAI had procrastinated long enough on the making of this dress for the final act of her pageantry. just the night prior at 3am, she was finished the ensemble that she’d created to present to the panel today with a cat walk of her own. her actual idea of a talent would’ve ended up being something far less suitable from a competition’s standpoint. she had no choice but to resort to something that wasn’t even her favorite anymore. for her talent portion of the pageant, she had a dance routine prepared (jk). reentering the stage for her final time before there would be a crowned winner, she started off by explaining what she was wearing after a sassy strut down the center of the stage until she was as close as she could be to the audience.  ❛      to show off some of the skills that i possess, this dress was hand-sewn by myself over the course of the past week in preparation for this day. when i am done with it, it will go towards my senior portfolio requirements. and now, you may prepare to be wow’d!      ❜   SHAI chuckled softly to herself before ridding herself of the microphone that she was currently holding. when her music was queued up and on, her performance began.          !        𝟎𝟐:𝟒𝟎.𝟏𝟐

She just...stared. She didn’t know how she was supposed to respond to the kindness of the other? Thankful? Happy? Resentful? Upset? Jealous? She couldn’t tell, because her heart was a tangled up mess that she hated having to deal with. If only she could cut out her heart too.

She never really cared about wounds like these, honestly most of the time she wished they’d just take her and let her bleed out, but instead she managed to cling on. Onto what, she would never be able to tell.

She didn’t want to still be breathing, that was all she knew.

There was little to no emotion in her voice, a little confusion, yeah, a little fear, yeah, a little sadness, maybe, but ultimately? It was empty. The stutter was only out of the pain she didn’t feel anymore.
