A Tythan edit I made. I know it's not the best, but I'm still practicing. Basically the story I have is an AU where Tyler and Ethan are perfect opposites. Ethan is a pure smol sweet man who is nice to everyone and loves to behave and take cute photos. And Tyler is a mischievous punk guy who enjoys chaos and will happily break a rule for the greater good. That and he's a daredevil. They balance each other and honestly are as sweet as can be to each other. And love to be close and show affection. That and they both have an unexpected love of video games. Though some don't get the pair, they get it and that's what matters. -Mod Lissa
AU where Tyler and Ethan start fostering puppies Imagine Tyler with puppies climbing on him and all across his lap Imagine Ethan playing with the puppies more excited than ever
12:04 pm. Ethan pushed back from his desk, chair wheels screeching in protest. His shift had ended several minutes ago without him noticing. A loud chirping had pulled him from the daze he went into while working, and sure enough, as Ethan glanced out the window he saw the perched morning dove, cooing happily.
A smile slowly spread across Ethan’s lips, seeing the lovely lavender hue to some of the dove’s feathers. He was always a sucker for pastels and the like, but purple held a special place in his heart. If not for his late wife’s adamant accusations of copying her, he probably would have dyed his hair purple instead of blue a while ago.
Ten minutes later, Ethan’s grey Subaru rolled up to the sidewalk of Sunny Days Preschool. Normally he would get out to pick up his daughter, but he was in a bit of a rush to get to lunch. Not so much because of his growing hunger (the only thing he’d consumed that day was a cup of coffee 5 hours prior), but because he was eagerly anticipating his 1pm lunch with a special fellow.
His close friend Amy, having recently found quite the handsome boyfriend, had insisted Ethan get back into dating. It was slow at first, starting with small mentions and pushes to flirt with attractive passerbys. But now, nearly two months later, Amy would not drop the subject, through both text and vocal conversation. She was determined, and when Amy was determined, Ethan found it difficult to hold his ground.
So now, here he was, getting ready for a blind date with a girl he’d never met. Maybe, Ethan thought, watching a lady who worked at the daycare carry Sophia towards the car, it won’t be so bad. After all, it has been three years.
“Hey Soph,” Ethan finally said, three minutes having passed from buckling his daughter up and beginning driving and the moment he noticed the silence. “Hi Daddy,” Sophia responded distractedly, preoccupied with her coloring book. “How was your day?” Ethan replied, slowly pressing on the breaks as they approached a red light. A few more minutes and they would arrive at home, where Amy and Mark were waiting for an afternoon of babysitting.
“It was…good,” Sophia replied, still focused on coloring, “Daddy, what color is a starfish?” Ethan glanced down at the map displayed on his phone, nearly cursing when he realized he’d missed his turn. “Um- any color, sweetie,” Ethan replied, squinting as he tried to decipher a different way to get to the house.
The loud and sudden sound of cars honking alerted Ethan of the green light, so his attention was once again ripped away as he scrambled to drive forwards before he was pulled over. “Daddyyy,” Sophia whined, upset. Ethan’s eyes flashed over a street sign. “I need to know what color!”
The sound of small legs kicking against a car seat further complemented Sophia’s distress. Ethan, though not entirely sure this would loop back around, turned onto the next street, putting so much goddamn trust in his phone’s GPS. “Daddy!” Sophia cried again, this time shrill. Ethan distractedly racked his brain for an answer, before half-mindedly spitting out “Purple, Sophia! Starfish are purple.”
The four year old seemed satisfied enough, the conversation ceasing as suddenly as it had begun. With one last turn, Ethan pulled into the next street. A relieved smile came over his face, as there across the street stood Amy’s familiar house. Just to make sure he was on time, Ethan glanced at the car’s clock. 12:45 pm.
Sophia, eager as always to show off her intelligence (or ability to read clocks), chimed from the backseat, “Twelve forty-five.” Ethan chuckled, unbuckling and getting out to retrieve Sophia. “That’s right, Soph.” He came around to the back, working on Sophia’s car seat buckle. He hated that thing, as it always took forever to budge. Finally, after some frustration and fidgeting, the buckle came undone and they were both able to start down the street.
Though Californians rarely experienced any seasons besides summer, a cool autumn breeze was picking up. Sophia’s hair blew in the wind, raising a bout of giggles from the preschooler. It wasn’t long before she was running forwards with her arms spread, still laughing at the way the wind felt.
Ethan smiled affectionately at her before looking down to his phone. No response from Amy, so he’d just have to drop Soph off regardless of whether she and Mark were ready. “Okay, you ready?” Ethan asked Sophia, sliding his phone into his pocket. His eyes searched the area around him…shit. “Sophia?” Ethan called, beginning to panic.
Luckily, his worry fell when he looked behind him.
There she was.
Twenty feet away, across the street, his daughter stood in front of a crouched man in a leather jacket, the little girl reaching out to touch his bright hair. Ethan jumped up and hurried over, quickly scooping up his daughter and apologizing profusely to the stranger. “I-I’m so sorry, I told her not to wander off,” Ethan managed to say, not really looking at the man.
The leather clad stranger slowly stood up, kindly smiling at Sophia. “It’s no problem, she’s adorable. Is she yours?” Ethan finally brought his eyes to meet the stranger’s, and was struck silent for a moment. The guy was…hot. Ethan hadn’t really been paying attention before but, damn.
The stranger stood at 6 foot something, dwarfing Ethan. A sharp jawline, sparkling blue eyes (with a rebellious glint), and a charming smile completely captivated the shorter man, who felt his knees begin to go weak. Not to mention the hair.
Electric purple waves shot through the dyed-dark curls, making it glint and shine in the sunlight. “Y-yeah,” Ethan finally mumbled, almost positive the dumbstruck look on his face was making a horrible first impression, “I made her.” Immediate regret surged through the younger man. Real smooth. Luckily, the stranger just burst into laughter, though he was clearly attempting to compose himself.
Ethan smiled in relief and laughed a little in return, shaking the hand the stranger offered out. “I’m Tyler,” the stranger said, widely smiling that charming smile of his. “Hi Tyler,” Ethan fought hard to keep from blushing or acting like an idiot again, “I’m Ethan.” Tyler curtiously nodded his head, starting to say something, only to be interrupted by Sophia. “Did you know you have starfish hair?”
A few moments of silence stretched out, before Ethan cringed inwardly. “She means it’s purple,” He explained, quite clearly embarassed, “I told her starfish were purple.” Tyler nodded in understanding, although he looked like he was holding in a laugh. “Well, I’m flattered,” the leather jacket-clad man replied, “I think.” More laughing. God, Ethan could listen this guy’s laugh for hours.
Unfortunately, he didn’t have hours. Reluctantly, he glanced down at his watch. He only had ten minutes left to drop off Sophia and get to the diner. “Ah, I’ve gotta go,” Ethan said in frustration, looking up at Tyler apologetically. “Oh no, don’t worry about it,” Tyler smiled politely, “I should get going too.” Ethan chuckled, setting down Sophia and grasping her hand.
The two bid a quick goodbye before walking by each other, heading opposite directions. “Already late?” Came Tyler’s remark after a few seconds, though he was further away now. Ethan turned around to see the grin on Tyler’s face. “Absolutely,” Ethan responded with a chuckle. There was that amazing laugh, this time from far away, before the two continued on away from each other.
The breeze had died down, and with it Sophia’s hyperactivity. As Ethan approached Amy’s house, he silently wondered if it was normal to feel the butterflies he was feeling right now. For someone he’d just met. And…for a man.

A/N: This was a request by @buffboytyler, although it was requested like over three months ago now (procrastination? Never heard of her). The good news is I definitely didn’t spend all that time on something so short! I’ve written a few more parts to it (which are significantly longer) and I’ll be posting those as soon as possible. Hopefully it doesn’t disappoint!
An AU where Tyler and Ethan are neighbors instead of roommates.
Ethan isn’t used to having a room with big windows so he walks around half-dressed right in front of them without closing the blinds or anything, Tyler doesn’t know if it’s a habit or what but he’s pretty sure that guy is doing it on purpose now.
Ethan doesn’t have a car since he works pretty close, so Tyler gets his own parking spot out on the curb and it’s very nice. But every once in a while Ethan will have a friend stay over for a while. Said friend not only has a huge car, but also steals the parking spot like every day he’s there and Tyler has to park elsewhere when he comes home.
The friend leaves eventually but that’s when Tyler rings Eth’s doorbell and offers to drive him to a car dealership and help him look for a car. Ethan just thinks his neighbor is being friendly but in reality Tyler’s determined to maintain ownership of his parking spot. He helps Ethan find an affordable car that’s a good deal and work out the payments, because Tyler is the most experienced adult there ever was.
Ethan is super grateful to Tyler and coincidentally, his car is just the right size to share Tyler’s parking spot. Tyler’s happy that his parking spot is finally prevented from Eth’s friend, but also quite happy he got to go on a super fast (likely over the speed limit) test drive with his attractive neighbor.
Tyler’s cat getting out all the time and for some reason it really likes Ethan? So Ethan always happily returns the kitty to Ty’s door, and Tyler is just standing there in awe because his cat has just melted into Ethan’s arms and is purring wildly and he never sees the cat like that when she’s around him? And maaaaybe just once or twice Tyler let’s his cat out on purpose just to get a visit from Eth.
