9. Do they swear? Do they remember their first swear word?

Fredrika’s parents swore a lot. She used to do this too when she was a kid, something that her teachers didn’t appreciate. After a teacher reamed her out when she was 8 years old, Fredrika didn’t utter another swear word until she was in her late teens. She distinctly remembers the teacher saying that swear is a sign of a bad vocabulary and that it will make people think she is stupid. Fredrika definitely doesn’t want to come off as less smart. She does swear but most of the time it’s just in her head.

18. What embarrasses them?

Stumbling over the words when presenting in front of her class is definitely something that embarrasses her. At first, Fredrika is also very uncomfortable at the office parties but she learns how to handle it.

28. Would they prefer a lie over an unpleasant truth?

Depends on the person and the situation. For instance, if she's at an office party and someone asks about her family she only tells them that she lost her parents years ago. She doesn’t specify that her dad ended up dying as a result of his addiction and that she doesn’t know where her mom is. With Ivar, she doesn’t lie unless it is for the purpose of a surprise. There was a lot of dishonesty in their relationship before they actually became a couple and neither of them wants to fall back into that behaviour.

B) What inspired you to create them?

Last year I had a dream about Ivar, Sigurd, Hvitserk and Ubbe. My friends and I were at an after party with them and the boys really wanted to catch our attention. Sigurd had some of the worst pick up lines ever to exist. As for Fredrika specifically, I didn’t really have much of a plan when I started writing. I just went along with whatever popped into my head as I started writing. Once I had a rough draft of the first chapter I started doing research about the historical events that she and Ivar discuss together the first night that they meet.

8. 19. and 20 for the fic writer ask :)

8. Why do you choose to write?

About four-five months ago my obsession with the murderous viking prince became overwhelming and I started lurking on tumblr and reading other’s fics. Then I got an idea for a fic that just wouldn’t leave me so I started drafting the first chapters of Keeping promises on my phone. I’ve always daydreamed a lot and over the last few years these little dreams have started to turn more and more into coherent stories. Also two years ago I got into D&D and it felt so good doing this creative story telling. However, I have always preferred writing over speaking so after some encouragement from @whenimaunicorn I decided to actually post the first chapter.

19. Why did you start writing?

I started writing some LOTR-fic when I was 11-12 years old because I had just discovered Tolkien’s stories and I just really wanted to create my own part of that world. Then a bunch of things happened which made me stop writing. In the last 4-5 months I’ve had much time to both read and write, so I decided to give it another shot.

20. 4 sentences from your work that you’re proud of

(ok so this is a little more than 4 sentences)

Little voices: He crawls to the fur where your baby boys are squirming and whimpering in their blankets and lies down next to them. He tries not to worry as he hears you cry out, your pained noises drowning out Margrethe's encouraging words. At first he just watches the small bundles, but he is struck by an overwhelming need to make sure that this is real and not just some dream that he will be cruelly awakened from. He carefully reaches for the one closest to him and places his hand over the bundle, feeling how it moves under his fingers.

Little voices: “I am not sad, I am happy beyond words. You told me that you loved me, you let me in your bed. Then you married me and now...” he gestures at what is no doubt the most precious treasures he's ever going to have “you have given me everything I thought I could never have.”

You won:“I'm afraid you don't have much of a choice; I don't let pigs in my bed.”

Keeping promises: “Make me feel good again, Ivar. Give me so many meories of your hands on my body, that there's no longer room for any memories of them.”

16. A character I didn’t used to like but now do 

- I wasn’t a big fan of Aslaug at first but she definitely grew on me.

20. Least favorite ship

- First one that came to mind was Margrethe x any of Ragnar’s sons. They treated her like crap (Sigurd seemed to be slightly nicer than the others, at least he remembered her name)

29. How did you discovered Vikings TV show?

- Through my d-bag ex, he loved this show.

C: What member do you identify with most?

I think Màiri. Even with her initial failures, she tries to protect Moyra.

V: If you could write the sequel (or prequel) toany fic out there not written by yourself, which would you choose?

I can’t think about any fanfic I would like to write a sequel right now. All fanfics I’ve been fangirling over are having a sequel or were finished as they should have been.

Y: A character you want to protect.

Moyra. But I make her suffer so much at the same time.
