I watch a WIDE variety of YouTube channels, but my current favorite is a channel that belongs to The Vervet Monkey Foundation in South Africa. They have a series called The Vervet Forest that has 28 episodes so far (new videos every week), and I’ve literally watched every episode at least two or three times each.
They rescue orphan baby vervet monkeys and, over the course of a few months, introduce them to “foster mom” monkeys that “adopt” them and raise them as their own.
It’s amazing to see the foster moms be so gentle with the babies when they’re first introduced. That’s my favorite part to watch.
I hand-lettered the piece in the first photo & put it on my Instagram to tell people how great the channel is and recommend they check it out, and The Vervet Monkey Foundation found it and asked me to email it to them because they liked it so much. My heart. ❤️
I’m hoping someday I’ll be able to volunteer at the foundation and help all of the monkeys, but I don’t know how I can be away from my amazing husband for that long. What a problem to have. Life is good.
