"Conner you've already recommended basically every ferns fic" AND I'LL DO IT AGAIN!! Look the request was put out for fics about female characters and this fic does that perfectly: especially since it is about Hope O'Dare and the fixing the two weakest points in Starman by James Robinson, one of which is how nothing his female characters are. Ferns gives Hope so much internal depth and inner life and motivation and oh my GOD it's just amazing. Seriously can we please get ferns to write for DC? Unfamiliar with Starman? Come read a fic about a woman caught in the pull of familial duty from two sides, the pulls of family and devotion and duty and is just fucking amazing writing. You don't need to be familiar with the series or character to enjoy this fic, I promise
