Also, I love the Bats, and recognize that it is by far the most popular subset of the fandom. (4 times bigger than it's closest rival on AO3!) I'd love to see the full spectrum of the DCU represented, so I encourage submitting for smaller subfandoms! But Bats are just as welcome. (And that's what a lot of my recs are going to be.)

Note for submitters:

You are absolutely allowed to give me different tags than the authour added. The goal of this blog is to draw readers to fic they haven't read before, and that includes offering new perspectives on fics they may have already seen! Readers can still look at the authour's tags after clicking the link. (some things, like the 'Other Relationship' tag, NEED to be different from the authour's, since most sites don't have them as an option!)

my bookmark note: oh my GOD. this is everything i want from a casefic! all my blorbos are here! wonderfully characterized dick, midnighter, and cass. i love love love the bit where cass starts fighting and mid can only keep up with her because he’s literally a fight computer. obsessed with fonda and all of the secondary characters here that know m, hood, and roy’s drink orders. obsessed with barbara having to hack a random antique radio to talk to m, and jason’s frequency being all-red color bars. obsessed with tim and roy quietly being mechanical geniuses in the background. obsessed with midnighter who is slowly and tragically realizing that he will come whenever dick calls and everyone else knows it. obsessed with midnighter who will never, ever, ever stop being married to apollo and will never take his shirts out of the hidden drawer. and i’ve already said it but i LOVE cass in this. cass fans read this. midnighter fans read this. fans of wonderful gotham citizen ocs and crazy ill-advised sex and dick grayson being a multi-faceted nuisance read this. i am abnormal about the grayson comic run anyway and this did NOT help.

“What's the gender situation?" He shrugged and Jason nodded. There were stranger things in Jason's life, probably, than someone with a G-cup going by Tim.

Throughout all of the flirting and sexual comments and cool self-confidence, there was a strong undercurrent of…Tim wasn't sure. It was right there in Jason's file: “sensitivity to violence towards women, excessively violent towards those accused of sexual assault. See: Felipe Garzonas.”

This fic has fun gender, hot kink, and an enticingly forward Jason Todd. Tim would still rather lie his way out of happiness, rather than admit a feeling, but Jason is so casually forthright that the conversations happen anyways. And after the conversations, there is a lot of extremely consensual violence towards a specific woman! It's great!

what if, after nightwing killed joker, reviving him didn’t work? what if dick turned himself in to the justice league for joker’s murder, and later tim claimed he was the one who did it so dick wouldn’t go to prison? this is such a fascinating fic, and i love how it tackles questions of justice, truth, favoritism, and corruption within the superhero community. the whole premise is incredibly compelling, and the execution lives up to it completely <3

This universe is completely different from his own; yet, in many respects, it's the same in the ways that matter. The Red Hood finds a broken bird in an abandoned wing of Arkham Asylum and rescues him. He doesn't expect for the bird to grow attached; or for him to do the same. Basically, post-UtRH Jason gets punted into the Arkham-verse and, upon seeing Arkham Jason, goes "Is anyone gonna save him or am I gonna have to do it myself?" while completely disregarding the fact that he's a complete disaster himself.

i’ve been following this fic for a while and eagerly awaiting every new update! i absolutely love the developing relationship between comic universe!Jason and arkham knight universe!jason <3 and all the tension surrounding what happens next: what is comic!jason going to do in this gotham? what does ak!jason want from life now? what will the batfamily do when they find out ak!jason is alive and that his companion is another jason from a different dimension? it all makes the story feel so compelling and keeps me very invested.
