Pariah is still locked up yeah. After Phantom died there are ppl who break into the castle n stole the Crown and the Ring, but didnt open the sealed sarcophagus. They want the crown for themselves, so he still locked up
I would say yeah on Clockwork part. Like i dont think it be easy to.. uncorrupt someone esp if it already roots in deep. Hard to tell where the corruption ends and where the actual Pariah starts, if they're not already one and the same (also denial is one hell of a strong motivator)
Tw isolation depression and the kind
So first of, Phantom was not okay. He locked himself alone in the castle because he doesnt want anyone else near the crown or ring fear it might tempt them to wear the crown. If Phantom do get tempted he's alone so he cant hurt anyone.. maybe.. And as we all.. fckin know by now, isolation does shit to ppl, it is super not healthy
He also was dealing with survivor guilt over sealing Pariah. Like he felt awful, he didn't want to seal him but the crown's corruptions roots deep and they can't just let him live like that, but also dont wanna kill his dad?? So, not a fun time. Theres also the guilt of like.. he felt he didnt try hard enough to convince Pariah to stop the tyranny
Like on hindsight it's obvious but when you put someone on a pedestal you tend to overlook things until it is too late. And thats the case with Phantom n CW. They didnt think it was that bad until Pariah went too far and a lot of ppl suffer the consequences of their inactions. Phantom locking himself to guard the ones that started it is his way to atone to that guilt. Its not good but u try convince the stubborn guy with the sword
So isolation, cabin fever, intense amount of guilt, just awful mix of depression margarita set. And idk about you but, have you ever got into depression n isolation so deep that when u finally drag yourself to go out for the first time n u realized theres more to the world outside of the 4 walls you've been staring for months and things are good actually and ur filled with so much happiness to the point of slightly manic energy and, if ur not careful, made u end up doing dumbshit because good lord u havent felt alive in so long?
Thats how Phantom felt. He got too cooped up one day he just maybe... maybe i can leave the castle for a bit. Just a stroll. Not too far. So he can still run back if anyone tried to break in. So he walked out. And he walked into the forest near the castle. N then he went deeper n deeper. And then he saw a unicorn bleeding out. And see it sparkly. And then he did a dumb
And now he's dead. Half dead. With no body. Stuck in the ether.
