Blind Booking

A really cheap way to get around the sights and tourist hubs of Europe is Blind Booking through Germanwings. At a base price of 66 euros (with 5 euros added for every destination eliminated) Germanwings offers groupings based on an interest in visiting places of culture, beaches, nightlife, nature, and more. 

The booking options don’t just look at the typical Western-European cities like Paris and London, they also look at beautiful cities in Eastern-Europe like in Hungary and Croatia. I got an amazing trip to Budapest, which would have probably never happened outside of this blind booking! However, several options are based in Germany so you may want to be cautious if you don’t have an interest in going around Germany (which you should definitely be interested in :-P) since you may not get to travel as far as you want. 

All the flights are direct so certain locations for departure only have certain options for designations. Stuttgart Airport does not have the same amount of options as Berlin-Tegel, but there are still plenty for each participating airport.

Tandem Partners in Tübingen

When looking for a tandem partner while studying at the University of Tübingen it may be faster and easier to search through the Facebook group rather than waiting for the German as a Second Language department to match you with someone. 

That being said, the department does try to get students connected to each other as quickly as possible. However, American English is not as sought after as British English by native-German speakers, so if you want a tandem partner: turn the form in a quickly as possible to get paired up.
