Ubame Chirizuka - Fossilized Wonders.
Back in May (2025), when the trial version of Fossilized Wonders was released, @zalco sent me the following question in a reblog tag:
"#do you think ubame's color's being so different is a layering issue" "#everyone else seems to have their palettes preserved"
I believe it is caused by layering, because the blue background seems to be overlapping with Ubame's hair (you can see the pattern of the flames on it). In different lighting, it can appear gray:

Another thing I find interesting about the image on the CD is that it uses an expression of Ubame which is actually not present in any dialogue lines. If you peek into the game files there is a file called "face01n2" (unused), which appears to have the same expression, however it has an additional expression marker near her head, that is not on the CD image.
Unused Ubame portraits from Fossilized Wonders
While making the collages with the characters’ appearances, I checked what portraits were used during the dialogues and I couldn’t find anywhere these portraits of Ubame.
Please let me know if I accidentally missed any of these while playing and they do appear in any dialogue.
The facial expressions found in the game files were merged with the larger body portrait. Please note that some are with the undamaged appearance and others are with the damaged appearance.
In Fossilized Wonders, Ubame Chirizuka's portrait that appears at the beginning of her spellcards has damaged clothes and messy hair. Usually, the character is damaged only at the end of the fight.
For reference, you can see below how her portrait looks before the fight (left side) and after the fight (right side).
I'm sad that Zun abandoned the 'arcane connection between first boss and final boss' thing that HSiFS and WBaWC had going on but I like that the titles of Ubame and Ariya's themes sort of speak to one another
