Ubermosh Vol. 3 - Walter Machado
Okay, I know I’ve said before that y’all should look into Ubermosh, but Vol. 5 just came out today and it’s absolutely bonkers! If you haven’t played the series before, every game adds new elements, and while you’ll probably only play the most recent one in the series as a pastime, the story behind the evolution of the mechanics makes it worth it to play all of them in order at first (Ubermosh, Ubermosh:Black, Swarmriders, Ubermosh Vol. 3, Ubermosh:Wriath, Ubermosh Vol. 5)
Seriously, the fact that this game series relies entirely on its mechanics and music to tell its story is enough to make me recommend it as a lesson in game design, let alone the fact that it’s super fun to play - nailing it’s visuals, sound design, and controls.
