Nevin Aladag was a new discovery for me at the Venice Biennale, where her work was one of my favorites in the exhibition, and, if I'm not mistaken (please feel free to correct me!) the only artist in the Venice Biennale and Documenta. Took me long enough to make it to the UB Art Galleries, but I'm glad the occasion of my first visit was the opening of #Wanderlust! I had high expectations for the exhibition and it did not disappoint. A standout for me was this work by #MarieLorenz. Lorenz picked up trash and detritus on her boat journey across New York, and made ceramic casts of the objects she picked up. The result is stunning -- hundreds of objects that we otherwise overlook transformed into something beautiful.
