Hello, this is Aye, and welcome to my writeblr! This little blog of mine is almost a year old and so far, I’ve been enjoying my time here.

What you’ll find on my writeblr are my stories, of course. I reblog writing tips, how-tos, other writers’ works, and more stuff related to writing. I also reblog pretty photographs that I find inspiring for my WIPs; some art and the moon—I love the moon. I share some edits of my stories too.

I love to read stories of any genre (I lurk a lot.) I like writing stories with dark themes. I mean, most of my stories have dark themes. I didn’t even plan them like so in the first place, but they always end up having dark undertones. LOL.

A few more facts about me: I have too many WIPs. I listen to music when I write. Currently, listening to some favorite songs by AURORA. Oh, and I love watching horror movies alone because it helps me focus on everything about the movie. When I’m with others, I tend to laugh (much more when I watch comedies. My friends, they’re all easy to scare.) LOL.

Hello! This is Aye again. I’m up for adoption (It’s kind of weird to say that out loud. I’m cackling. Hahaha.) So, by reblogging this adoption post, you agree to adopt me and my OCs—Winter, Nina, Sky, and Dylan. And to feed us. Well, me. With coffee or tea. Maybe some pie too? Hahahaha.

I’m mostly excited to adopt and I hope I could send questions every day (starting tomorrow) so we could hype over your stories and characters. Also, thank you so much for interacting with my underwing posts for the last seven days. And for replying back to my messages on your posts. It’s been fun!

Three: Who is your main cast? Describe as many of your OCs as you can cram into one post. (×)

Introducing the main cast of Don’t Fall Asleep—Winter, Sky, Nina, and Dylan. Haunted high school seniors, my beloved idiots.

Winter Newman

The haunted protagonist of the story. She lives with her mother, Emelia; her father, deceased. She’s not friendly with a lot of people; cold and blunt, occasionally cynical. She purposely intimidates them because she doesn’t want anyone getting mixed up with her life. Winter knows something about her is wrong. But she can’t figure it out. Besides that, she doesn’t like falling asleep. Even if she gets to, she’d still be restless, haunted by her dreams. I’ve been there, a lot. It’s not fun. Not at all. Compels me though.

Sky Moore

The charming transfer student; friendly and optimistic. He rents an apartment near the high school alone. No one really knows why and no one ever asked. Sky is drawn to Winter. Everyone knows, everyone sees. He’s weird like that. No matter how much Winter pushes him away, he wouldn’t budge. There’s more to him. But I don’t want to say something that wouldn’t be in the final pages or might spoil the whole thing.

Nina Rodriguez

Humble, sweet, and loving. The light in the darkness; rose-colored. She cares a lot about her friends, especially Winter. Has good maternal instincts; she could always tell if something’s wrong. Nina grew up in a very studious household but she always finds a way to have some fun.

Dylan Pérez

The class representative and occasionally the poster boy. He takes over the class, keeps them from getting rowdy when the teacher’s not around. He is quite strict, too. He keeps a little notepad to list the names of those who are misbehaving. Winter, for example, is always at the top of that list. Dylan is an overachiever but he’s not smug about it.

I hope this was enough to give y’all a vibe of their personalities. I’m still figuring out how to describe them physically. The character gallery I made isn’t a face claim. They’re just there to give some more vibes about the whole story.

Two: Introduce the WIP you’d like to highlight this month. What’s it about? What are some themes/vibes it covers? (×)

This is Don’t Fall Asleep. I’ve also introduced this little WIP of mine in Chazza’s writeblr challenge. So, if you joined the challenge last month or followed the tag, you might have come across it. I shared some excerpts too.

About: Don’t Fall Asleep is a young adult paranormal story, with some romance. It follows the life of the main character, Winter Newman. She’s perpetually haunted (in her dreams.) Dreaming about confusing, terrifying things made her deprive herself of sleep at night (she’s not always successful with it.) She felt much safer to take rest when the sun’s out. Then, everything changes when a boy—a transfer student—insists to become friends with her.

Themes/Vibes: sleep deprivation, sleep paralysis, lucid dreaming, astral projection, dark entities | high school stuff, best friendships, teen angst and romance, dark/questionable family history, paranormal/supernatural beliefs

Seven: What kind of partnership are you looking for in this event? Friendship? Somebody to bounce ideas off of? Something else? What sorts of people are you hoping to meet and adopt? (×)

Hello, I hope you’re all well! ♡

What am I looking for in this event? More lovely writeblrs. ♡♡♡ Writeblrs who’d be comfortable with me tagging them on writeblr games, on photo sets that remind of their WIPs, and maybe allow me to edit stuff for their WIPs too. I enjoy editing A LOT. I’m not hoping to have a graphic editing career but it might be useful in my professional life (soon). So, it’s good practice. Writeblrs who enjoy rambling about their WIPs and who wouldn’t mind me (suddenly) hyping them up and abusing the comment section. I tend to do that (it’s the caffeine, I told you. Hahaha.) 😅☺

I’m having a hard time deciding which writeblrs to adopt for the challenge. I’m curious about all of them but I don’t think I could manage to adopt everyone. 😔 But I’m following the tags. I’ll just appear in your comment sections or hit that heart or reblog. ♡♡♡

Five: What’s your favorite excerpt from this WIP so far? (×)

This is an excerpt with Winter, Nina, and Dylan in the hallway. Thinking about this makes me laugh. I love writing about Winter and Dylan.

Then, Nina whispered something to Dylan, making him lose his smile. The boy then turned his head to the other side saying, “Good morning, Winter.”

Winter smiled lovingly, the most convincing one she could muster for the boy. “Good morning, Dylan. Have you not heard the bell rang? I thought you were such a kiss-ass?” She couldn’t help herself from saying the last bit. It came out naturally.

Dylan didn’t retort, he promised Nina the same thing Winter did. And he’s trying his best.

Four: What’s the world of your WIP like? (×)

Don’t Fall Asleep is set in the suburbs. In the morning, one would see a middle-aged person dampening their yard or watering their plants; a walking group would be passing by with their dogs; students would be walking to the bus stop. At night though, it gets a little eerie. It’s too quiet. The street lights have warm tones and sometimes, some of ‘em would flicker. I take inspiration from the suburban towns and neighborhoods I’ve seen in film. But the vibes? I take inspiration from ours. We have a lot of trees here, which makes it eerier (and exciting.) It’s just like any other suburban neighborhood, really.

What’s interesting are Winter’s dreamscapes; her nightmares. It often takes place in familiar locations; in some part of the house—in chapter one, for example, it was in her bathroom—or at school; rarely in places, she’s never been before. But Winter’s childhood was a blur (not entirely though.) She’s never sure where she’s been to. *wink wink*
