Found your shikanaru headcannon post and loveee but im confused on the uchiha love vs the naru love. I know about the naru fixation but had no idea the uchihas had something similar?
The Nara Fixation is purely a fandom headcanon, but the Uchiha Obsession does actually have some canon elements! In the series, the Uchiha are plagued by "The Curse of Hatred", in which they fall into insanity upon witnessing a profound loss.
In the series, we see this most with Madara I think. He loved his brother so deeply, to the point of obsession, that he went crazy when he died, and that insanity followed him his entire existence. Same with Obito and Rin. We also see it partly with Itachi and Sasuke— Itachi sacrifices everything for Sasuke because of how deep his love for him and the village is, all the make sure Sasuke can survive. He commits the ultimate sin of killing his entire family, and then resigns himself to death at Sasuke's hand as a way of atoning and making sure Sasuke finds closure.
So the Uchiha Obsession isn't necessarily canon either per se— not in the almost romantic context I'm using it in. It's more a precursor to the Uchiha Insanity/Curse Of Hatred in the series. For an Uchiha to go that insane, they'd need to love pretty deeply first. I enjoy playing with the what-ifs and playing up that element for fun!
