Welcome to February,
Here's what the TWLOHA calendar looks like today.
In the past month, we have experience birth. We had our first general meeting, a brand new 2015 year ahead of us and met wonderful people who believe in this cause as much as we do.
This is a celebratory poem: to January, long gone, and well lived.
To January,
31 days of existence,
I celebrated your first day with friends and Netflix,
You gave me so many tears and laughter on the same day,
To busting missions with friends and buying 8 boxes of pizza for 17 awesome people,
Here's to the new friends: Josh from Facebook, Jasmine, Adriana, Hannah, Daisy, Claudia, Wenxi, and many other, I'm deeply sorry for my terrible memory.
To our beautiful officers, you guys have the most colorful souls in this black and white world,
Here's to our wonderful advisor, you believed in us even when we didn't even believed in ourselves, thank you.
To fast car rides, and long conversations about life,
To the unfortunate wind, you took Lindsey's laptop, but not her smile.
Here's to woosh, bunny (bunny, bunny, bunny), aligator, pterodactyl and other animals and awkward ice breakers, we have yet to master.
To your name, major and year, you are more than just a student, and we want to celebrate that.
This is to all of you, the new member, the OG, the best friend, the high school friend, the orientation friend, the sister, the supporter.
To this heavy and light life, we go from eating pizza to staying up all night crying, to talking about Barbie episodes on Netflix to telling a close friend your most sacred secret.
Here's to the past month, you taught us so much in such little time.
So let February surprise you, whether you're feeling lost or a little down,
January has told us through out the month to keep fighting, that there is still time.
Time for surprises, new beginnings, new songs, new friends, more concerts, laughter, honest conversations, time to reinvent ourselves, time to live freely.
So hang tight, and welcome to February.
with hope,
Ali
